UmpquaTiemco Fly Tying Twin Hackle Gauge

I have purchased 5 of these gauges so far. I really like how easy they are to use and how attractive they are. I have put them on vise tables for 3 grandchildren who tie flies and two of my own tables. I have used others, but these are the ones I like best.

This gauge is soooo hard to read. I have great vision and can hardly read the numbers. Also, the lines are so small and the blue paint seems to make any light colored hackles disappear so you can hardly tell where the tips of the hackle fibers are. I really like that it has a gauge for standard and parachute but poor execution. It was the most expensive one on the market so I expected it to be the best. Now I'm looking to replace it with another manufacturer.

This gauge does what it is supposed to, but the price is high. It was the best I could find at the time, but two weeks after I bought it, I saw that Cabellas started selling one for about five bucks. Ugh. Wish I had waited.

This thing is aesthetic as hell. It looks ten times better than the other hackle gauges I have tried with the double gauge taking it over the top. Minimal, design oriented, pleasantly colored. If you like nice looking simple gear this is definitely for you.
