The HORRIBLE customer service from NetTalk is the issue
The product itself is not really the issue. The HORRIBLE customer service from NetTalk is the issue. I have been using a NetTalk device for a couple years and lately it started losing it's connection and I have to reset it about once a week. I tried to order a newer model of this device to replace the old device. I had already paid for a couple more years of service so I wanted to transfer that service to this new device. I wasted over an hour of my time with customer service trying to get my existing NetTalk phone number and service ported to this device and they could not do it. How is that possible? That sort of thing is done all the time with cell phones? If you are trying to do similar call Customer Service first before activating the device. I followed the instructions in the box and activated it and then customer service told me the reason they could not transfer service to the new device was because it had already been activated. Yeah....I was the one that activated it. I sent them proof of my purchase and finally they agreed they would port my number and service. But after 2 weeks of waiting....nothing. So I gave up. I am still use the old crappy device that keep losing it's connection.

I have been a Nettalk Duo Customer for about 5 or so years, heck, I can't remember the last time I had a landline or "MJ"....the electronic store no longer carried it, so after having an issue with my old device (which I think was more of an updated software/technology issue), I ordered on Amazon. Quick delivery, and awesome product!!!! One fee per year? Can't beat that, and the quality is awesome. Only problem, which is more on my network, is that sometimes it drops from the wireless network, but that could be the numerous devices and people in my house. Quick fix, restart the device or router, and your good!

Short range solution for wireless setups
I had to work with this for a while to get it to work the way I wanted it. Although it's wireless and connects to my long range router, the operating range of the device is rather short. But after I found a location where it would work reliably I founds it works all right.

This a great low cost phone solution
This a great low cost phone solution. I'm using it to help an elderly relative keep phone service on a private line in a new care facility. Set-up takes a little time and patience, (you will need a laptop at the point of service) to set-up the wireless service portion. Took about 10 min. Has worked great for about a month now.

DYING AFTER 30 DAYS; NO WARRANTY BY NETTALK; HORRIBLE PRODUCT
Horrible Product even Horribl"er" customer service, Bought it from seller (Bookzilla) if you buy it from anyone other than Nettalk.com, there is NO warranty. Mine has started giving me issues a little over 1 month of use. which means I can't send it back to Bookzilla either... So i'm stuck with this junk. call quality is just OK when it does work, but in my case that is rare. I have a documented conversation with a NetTalk tech support guy who stated that he's seen these things die anywhere from 2 weeks of use to 2 years of use. I told him how they were resolving that quality issue, he had no comment...I'm going to go with the obihai 200 instead and link to google for free calling to US and Canada. (Better reviews)

Super easy to get started 5 minutes on the computer ...
Ported in my number and would know I changed from the phone company or cable company. Super easy to get started 5 minutes on the computer and 2 minutes plugging it in and cleanig up my old wiring. Plug it in let talk to nettalk and dial tone your $39.95 phone bill for a year. Not bad !

Nettalk Won't Activate Refurbished Units
I purchased this from Amazon Warehouse. I knew it was a refurbished return and I have no problems with that. However, Nettalk won't let you use a product that was used previously. Even when the unit is working perfectly they won't activate it on their network under the new owners account. That is ridiculous, but they are unyielding and earned their one star.
