He got the worst call from his twin brother Jackson that something happened to there grandfather. Now returning home to Snow Crystal Resort it was pretty tense to say the least. After losing there father he left to start his career in Boston. Mixed feelings on how long he'd stay was all up to his grandfather., but when he made it clear he was fine and Sean could leave right away it hurt. That was until he saw Elise the French chief who his brother hired. He finds himself helping her and staying longer.Elise Phililppe loved her job in Snow Crystal. She called it home. She was succesful, and was never leaving. She was about to open a cafe when all things went down hill..Then Sexy Sean O'Neil came home. It was for his family, but he said he would help. Things changed between them.Sean and Elise barred there intermost secrets to each other one night. What will they do about the chemistry that is still there from the summer fling they shared? Will seeing each other again change things?Highly recommend this book and the series.

Had to Read to Finish the Series -- but Doesn't Stand Out
I am almost pathologically unable to leave a series unfinished. If I hate the first book, I can walk away, but once I've read two or more, I feel compelled to close out the series even when I'm just not that in to it. That's why I read Sarah Morgan's Suddenly Last Summer, a summertime contemporary sandwiched between the Christmas-themed Sleigh Bells in the Snow, which I read last December and rated 2.5 stars, and Maybe This Christmas, which I read last week and rated 3.5 stars. In reading Maybe This Christmas, I discovered that I'd missed this book, and had to go back and close out the trilogy even though none of the three books really stood out from the crowd.Suddenly Last Summer is the story of Sean O'Neil, an orthopedic surgeon whose love of career leaves no time for relationships, and Elise Somebody, the chef at the O'Neil family resort. Elise is also a workaholic, but her resistance to relationships has more to do with her abusive ex-husband than with her work schedule. Sean and Elise have steamy chemistry, but neither wants anything more than sex. When each starts to develop Feelings, they both get uncomfortable and things get messy.I'm not a fan of I-don't-want-to-love-you-because-REASONS stories. You know what I mean: where the conflict between the lovers is entirely in the characters' heads and not based on any real obstacle. This is such a story. I didn't love it. I didn't hate it. I finished the series. That is all.

5 heartwarming stars!
This is the second book in the O'Neil brothers series; The story of the French chef Élise and the bones fixing doctor :)The whole series is about family and the importance of togetherness, something we all agree to. What I really liked about the book and learnt is the fact that you should always tell people you love how much you love them before it's too late. I was so glad Sean and Elise could make it because when you find your true love never let it go.

Awesome! This is definitely one of my new favorite ...
Awesome! This is definitely one of my new favorite authors. This is the second book in the O'Neill series and it's Sean and Elise's story. They both thought that a relationship was the last thing they wanted until what they realized what they really wanted was each other. It's a great story and I absolutely love this group of characters. Can't wait to read the next one! I definite recommend this one!

Suddenly Last Summer (O'Neil Brothers Book 2)
In this book Elise is a French cook working at Snow Crystal resort. She left an abusive marriage in Paris. There are many interesting twists and turns to the plot which lead to a happy ending in the plot which lead to a happy ending.

an unexpected treat!
I was really only reading this to get to book three...something in the first book about Elise rubbed me the wrong way. But I was pleasantly surprised in this book...the story of Sean and Elise was quite enjoyable.

A great easy read romance
I read the first part of this trilogy a few years ago and forgot I had this book still to read.It follows the story of the second O'Neil brother Sean - a surgeon who comes back to the Snow Crystal Resort in Vermont after hearing that his grandfather has taken unwell. The other main character Elise is a chef from France who works at the resort and has a very close bond with Sean's grandfather and the rest of the family. Elise and Sean shared a night the previous summer that she is still trying her best to forget and hopes that as Sean is back in town her one-night stand with him can be repeated. However, both characters have issues which they have not dealt with and as the attraction is mutual they inevitably find it difficult to stay away from each other. There is more than the romance of the two main characters in this novel, there are family situations which result from misunderstandings, a lack of communication and secrets which have yet to be uncovered.I love Sarah Morgan's book because of the description of the settings, for me this what I love about her books. The descriptions are vivid and sweep you off there and I would love to travel to Snow Crystal Resort in the summer or winter and have a coffee sitting outside.I gave this book 4/5 - a good romance and the description of the setting is as usual superb.I would recommend this to anyone who likes easy reading romance novels and although part of a trilogy this book could easily be read as a stand alone. Thanks Sarah for another great read.

Brilliant! Just what I have come to expect from Sarah Morgan.
Oh my, how I want to go to Snow Crystal Resort.Anyone who follows my reviews will know I am fan of Sarah Morgan, her books seems to tick every box for me. And this series has been no exception.Elise Phillips is the fiesty, funny, French chef at Crystal Cove she has been entertaining us with her frank speak since the first book 'Sleigh Bells in the Snow' I was intrigued by how this book would pan out, and I wasn't disappointed. She arrived to Snow Crystal trying to start a new life for herself and like everyone has fallen in love with the resort and it's owners the O'Neil's. Having spend one very hot night with Sean O'Neil she puts it to the back of her mind, and try to carry on as normal as he rarely visits the resort but after a family illness brings him back home, both of them have problems forgetting the night they shared together...last summer.I think the think I love most about Sarah is that she manages to make all her characters have some very loveable and redeeming qualities. Each book centres around the entire family or close friends so you meet everyone, get to know a little bit about them and hope that they also will get a book all of there own. Again in each book she still catches you up on their lives and how they are getting on so you never have to wonder.I am off to book three.....now ;)

An enchanting story
Such a good story. Full of the arguments and misunderstandings that happen between families when they don't communicate properly. The main characters of this story, Sean O'Neil, a surgeon; and Elise, a French chef, both have serious issues in their lives that neither has told anyone about, and those issues have seriously damaged their emotional lives, in every other respect they are both strong people. They are attracted to each other, but neither of them wishes to have that attraction, so they keep a wary distance, with Sean using it as another excuse to avoid coming home to Snow Crystal to spend time with his family, he already has other issues. There is quite an unexpected twist near the end that I really wasn't expecting, even though it was quite a logical thing to happen. This is the second book in the trilogy about the O'Neil brothers, and the first two are pretty powerful stories. The third story, about Tyler is on my list tonread very soon. Well worth reading.

Gorgeous scenery and hot steamy sessions!
Suddenly Last Summer is the second book in the very popular Snow Crystal Trilogy.Format: Amazon KindleA real 'good vibe' book, where the reader is transported to the beautiful Snow Crystal resort in Vermont where the O'Neill family live. Sarah does not disappoint with this book and the reader is transported to stunning lakes and beautiful forests which do magic with the libidos of both Sean, an orthopaedic surgeon and Élise, a highly qualified chef. I love it when a writer has the ability to really engulf you in the experience and that is what I got as a reader when reading Suddenly Last Summer. Her vivid descriptions of the gorgeous scenery at Snow Crystal made the story very real and I could almost smell the forest and feel the rain drops on my skin.We met both characters briefly in the first book, Sleigh Bells in the Snow and as they don't have the easiest of relationships, sparks flew between the two main characters. Sean and Élise had a steamy encounter during the last summer but as both are hard working career professionals, neither wants to engage in a relationship. Walter, Sean's grandfather who Élise adores, is suddenly taken to hospital which forces Sean to spend more time at Snow Crystal where he has to confront ghosts from his past. Élise has adopted the O' Neills as her own family after losing her mum in a tragic accident and experiencing severe trauma in Paris. She needed a clean break and that happened in the form of a chance meeting with Jackson, Sean's twin brother. Sean helps out Élise on her deck renovations at the new Boathouse restaurant when a family member who originally has been helping, has a motorbike accident and things really hot up when Sean takes off his shirt - which woman can work in circumstances where a gorgeous - almost naked - man bulge his muscles on your deck! The two can't forget their previous steamy session and despite good intentions, their willpower is low. Add in some rain, arguments, misunderstandings and wet clinging clothes and you have a total different scenario in the forest!Although it is recommended to read the first book - Sleigh Bells in the Snow before Suddenly Last Summer, the book is a standalone and can be read on its own.Thank you Sarah - I really enjoyed this book!

Absolutely fabulous. Book number two in the Snow Crystal trilogy.
Yes you can read this book on its own, however I recommend reading Sleigh Bells In The Snow first. Brilliantly written, full of emotion, bursting with romance and enough hot, spicy erotic passion to keep you reading long after you should. Forget about sleeping till you have finished. Onward to the third book, Maybe this Christmas, but think I need some sleep first as I know I can't interrupt the story till it's done. Marvellous writing Sarah and also thanks for Miracle on 5th Avenue. Please can you do a follow up from that book too?
