Rubie's Costume Co Women's The Hunger Games Deluxe Katniss Costume

This was a last minute purchase for my daughter, so my expectations were that of a parent ordering a Halloween costume VERY last minute. I was pleasantly suprised with the quality and fit. She is about 5'2 and 130lbs and the size large fit her perfectly. She is very particular about the way clothing feels and she was very comfortable in it all night. It has some stretch, which helps. Temperature-wise, she was also comfortable, so the costume wasn't overly hot, but also kept her warm enough from the slight chill. At first glance the waist seemed too small, but it had a good amount of stretch to not be overly or uncomfortably tight. For reference, I tried it on as well, I am 5'4, 137lbs and it fit me just as good. It looks like a more expensive costume and seems very durable. It even comes with a mockingjay pin, although I wish it were brass because it is black (the same color as the costume), making it a little difficult to see. It would be easy to paint, so not a big deal. We bought a cheap bow and arrow from Spirit Halloween to complete the look and our daughter was a beautiful and confident Katniss Everdeen for the night! We were wondering if anyone would recognize who she was (which they did 😊), but we realized we didn't even care because the costume was so cool. I think a side braid plus a bow and arrow brought the whole look together.

This was PERFECT for my daughter. She has talked about wanting a Katniss costume all year so I was glad I found this one. We had visited costume stores in hopes to find the right one and ensure the fit was right with no avail. I found this one and ordered it immediately. The fit was perfect, my daughter is 10 and it was not boxy or oversized looking. The length of the pants were perfect and did not drag on the ground. The material is not the greatest quality but was better than I had expected. The pin provided is ok but not great, it is a thin plastic pin that can break if the right pressure is applied to it. For the price point I was surprised that it does not come with the arrow. I knew this ahead of time and ordered one elsewhere.

This was very expensive for the lack of quality within the item. I received one that came with broken seams, returned it and replaced with another one, since it was one of the only types of this costume we could find. After wearing it for an hour, once, the seams for the armor on the front started separating. I had to resew for my daughter to be able to wear it again for her Halloween Party. The pin broke the minute she tried to put it on. Terrible quality. I would not buy this brand again. Very expensive for how easily it broke and came apart with basic, non harsh, wearing. Fit wise, my daughter is 12 and has a slender frame. We bought the small and the waist fit, but it was very short. She's not unusually tall at all. Do not recommend this item.

So, the costume is decent. The quality of it does not look as good as the picture, but that how most products are. I got a size medium being 5’ 5” and 140 lbs. It is definitely short because the knee pads rest above my knees. And the shirt is short to where if I bend to touch my toes, my back shows. But the medium overall fit me. Not too tight and not too big. There was also a rip of a seam. For $40, I would say it isn’t the best. But this is the only costume you can really find online unless you make your own.

So other than the knee pads being a TINY bit high, and the arms a little long, it's perfect. I THOUGHT IT WAS A BODY SUIT. It's TWO PIECES! IT's way more comfortable, and the shirt is a half zip up so you don't have to do the whole thing! It's SUPER comfortable. I have the Costume from Catching Fire, too, and it's a little itchy, and the sleeves are extremely short so I was very nervous about the fit of this. Same company, same size, and the legs were a bit short, too, but no problems here. Super comfy.For sizing help, 'cause it's not super accurate, If you're about 5'5 and in the ballpark of 120-140lbs this is probably going to be a very good fit. A little taller you're probably okay but much taller and you might want to go a size up. Either way it seems fairly well made, I was expecting sort of foamy armor and it isn't as SHINY as it looks in the photo, but it wasn't super shiny in the film so I'm pretty pleased. Got a lot of compliments, too.

Im 5’4 and the knees weren’t in the right spot. Plus the stitches connecting the straps on the stomach were torn when i opened the package. This definitely makes isnt worth the $70 i paid. I could see maybe $30. Its just stretchy costume material with foam armor poorly sewn on. Other than that the fit was good and it is a decent costume for what i need it for just not worth the money

I definitely was worried because this didn't have the best reviews, but seems we got lucky. My daughter insisted on this costume but her size wasn't available and I knew that the pants would be too small, so we did some crafting and put the pads on a bigger pair of leggings and it worked out great. She looked exactly like Katniss! I would be worried if she needed to wear the costume more than once about it ripping but it arrived all sewn together properly and with the pin too.
