These traps are made in Huntsville, Alabama by a skilled artist with his chainsaw! Each trap is completely unique from the other, but all contain a mason jar receptacle and are made out of gorgeous cedar wood. The trap works by replicating the design of a natural carpenter bee nest to lure the carpenter bees inside. Once the carpenter bee is inside the trap, it is drawn down to the largest light source- the mason jar bottom. When inside the mason jar the bee becomes stuck and dies. As the dead bees collect in the trap they release pheromones which act as natural attractants to other carpenter bees. Before you know it the entire trap is filled and all you have to do is empty and replace! The trap doesn’t use any harmful chemicals and requires hardly any maintenance, making this carpenter bee trap an excellent choice for families.
