Great desk!

Maybe someone can better explain why this desk got such a high rating, because I don't understand what makes it special. I'll say this, it is sturdy, well made and good quality. Now for the cons... tilting the desk up too high and the cups that come with it, have a tendency to fall right out if child touches them. Placing paint brushes or tall crayons inside and they get knocked out/fall out. There is no storage, the cups are nothing more than something else for child to grab out and run around the house with. Provides much entertainment and very little functionality. The paper cutter DOES get in the way for little arms and hands. It does not cut the paper or hold it, which would make more sense and a happier parent. I'm fine that it doesn't really cut, the paper can be just as easily torn off, so this provides nothing at all for this design because it is meant for the paper to slide right through, so is just for looks and nothing else.The chalktop, I won't use it. Chalk is messy and will end up all over the television anyhow, much like crayons before this. The paper holder for the roll doesn't work well either, the paper keeps wanting to slide back down and around to the floor even with the desk tilted all the way up; the only good thing I can say about it is that it came pre-assembled (one less thing to put together). The little shelf that I thought was a shelf under the chair, the lacquer on the seat makes anything from paper, to books, to toys, slide right off and is therefore useless.For the astronomical cost of an art desk for a barely three year old, this is not worth the price in any way. I wanted something functional, attractive and useful. This meets one out of three of those requirements (it's colorful and pretty to look at), so I call this a failed purchase. If you are just looking for a table/desk that is for sitting and drawing or painting, this is way too expensive to just do that, but it works for that. Given the chance to go back and do it again, I would have purchased one of the cheaper made-for-toddler work desks with the storage areas (book holders) and easel for painting. I might still do that, and stick this in the corner for decoration.

I bought this for my 2-1/2 year old grandson. I have not seen it in person but my daughter tells me he loves it. It is sturdy, compact and he uses it practically every day. My frig is decorated with all his artistic endeavors. The paper he draws on is conveniently attached on a roller on the desk and it is very easy to insert a new roll when the old one runs out. There are indentations for paint cups so that the cups can't overturn resulting inthe paint spilling out making a mess. The cups do not come with this item nor do the the paint and brushes, but these items can be bought at a minimal cost. It does come with a roll of paper. The chair is perfect for a child probably up till around 3-4 years. Best of all it does not take up much room. These comments are all from my daughter who has the Art Desk in her home and is personally acquainted with it. The reason I gave it 4 stars rather then 5 is because I have not seen it yet.

After about 30 minutes of constructing this desk and chair, I have to say I am quite pleased with it. My 18 month old son enjoys it even more and spends hours sitting there and drawing. The desk level is adjustable and makes a decent easel. The easel is not easily adjustable, it takes the unscrewing of certain parts to unlock the board. This is more for the child's safety than the parent's convenience and I am completely fine with that. The hidden roll of paper just begs for a child to keep unspooling it, and keeping the paper suppliers in business. And sometimes my child likes to climb on the chair and onto the desk, but the desk is not meant as a replacement for vigilance. My only wish is for the backboard to be slate so the kid can use chalk. That'd be the only improvement I would make to this model.When I received my shipment, the chair backing was cracked. I called the company and received the replacement for the broken piece in less than a week. The customer service was fantastic.A great, stable desk where my son can express his energies. He spends hours at the desk and I can rest easier knowing that he's content and in a safe area.

Great art desk for my toddler! It does take about 1-2 hours to put this together, so make sure you have time and patience to put this together. But it was fairly easy. It is easier if you have helping hands (adult helping hands) so don't be afraid to ask for help. The structure of the desk is pretty sturdy. I think I can sit on the chair for a little while and I am over 200 lbs. Although sturdy, the set is fairly light. My toddler daughter easily pushes around the desk and can move the chair as well. All in all, very satisfied with the desk. Just remember that the only art supplies that come with this is the paper roll. Get some markers, crayons, pencils and other art tools so your little one can enjoy the desk from day one.

We love it and it’s so pretty in his room . My little one is three and he loves drawing and painting on it ! Totally worth it !

I loved the paint and attention to detail they out into this. All sides are painted. The wood is thick and sturdy. All screws lined up perfectly. There honestly isn't one thing I don't like.

Nice little set... bright colors as shown.. Package was not damaged, however the accessory cups were all broken. After gifting for Christmas, I hope to find some replacement ones, as they are made a specific way to fit the holes properly.

Bought 2 of these for Christmas gifts for my 3 and 4 year old and they LOVE them! My only complaint and it's not really a complaint but the paper roll would be better if it was wider.They are well made and were easily put together. Highly recommend them!

I would give it zero star if possible.The worst quality imaginable.Just months after buying the desk,the top detached from the base.I don't know how that is even possible.I guess the holes for the screws were too loose.We tried to nail the top down but still it is not stable.Just a piece of junk at rip off price:(
