A New Latin Primer

Great book but...
Top quality bood with 2 exceptions:1. There is no companion website. The website is for the workbook, not this book.2. There is no answer key for the tests at the end of each chapter. This is the worst. I cannot prove I understand correctly. Even using online translators, the answers make no sense. This almost ruins the whole book. Very frustrating.

Comprehensive.
I used this textbook for my university 101 and 102 Latin courses. Having recently finished the 102 course, I can confidently read Ovid, Bede, Livy, and even Thomas More's Utopia with a dictionary, time, and a lot of patience. English and Irby do an exceptional job at explaining Latin grammar, they are considerate of those with little to no experience with highly inflected languages (like myself before the courses), each lesson has several pages of selections from authentic texts with a general theme or author, and there are extensive tables at the end of the book for declensions, verb conjugations, and even a section explaining poetic metre. I cannot imagine a better Latin textbook.
