Really enjoyed using this fondant.
I'm not a fondant expert. this was my first attempt at using fondant and I was delighted to experience how easy it is to work with. It's like play-dough for grown ups! It was easy to roll out, cut and stayed pliable long enough for me to re-roll and use the remnants and mistakes. I laid the pieces on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper and covered it with plastic wrap overnight. They dried out slightly making them sturdier but had no cracking. I'm really looking forward to my next fondant project. Maybe I can get past a pre-school level of design next time :) I layered two colors and followed the directions to make it stick & they stayed together great. I used pink and white and dusted them with sparkly sugar. I will definitely buy Via Roma again.

Unusable
I have zero experience with fondant, however, even a novice would know immediately that the product was not right upon opening it. It was very hard and dry. I tried to roll it and mold it in my hand but it just broke apart. No matter how hard I tried, the tentacle I was trying to make kept looking like a turd. (See photo). The box showed it was past the ‘best by’ date.

Top quality and keeps well
I wrapped it really well after we used part of it 4 months ago, and two weeks ago, brought the rest out to use - still pliable and soft, and even still tasty. Easy to roll out and use and to mix coloring in. My child and her school mate had a blast making miniature sweet food items. Stayed soft during the 2 hour use and the fondant hardened in 1-2 days into brittle candy.

Nice quality product that tastes good and is pretty easy to work.
It takes a little practice to get used to handling fondant. As I'm not a super experienced baker, my results were beginner-level but promising. I think it tastes great and I'm impressed by how long its shelf life seems to be. I also bought this in white and pink (you get 1.5 lbs of the white). They are pretty easy to work. You can play with mixing them too but I had mixed results that looked more like a marbled effect than a lighter color tone. What I founds that worked best for me was to let myself off the hook for trying to use it as icing. Instead I used these Happy Sales Stainless Steel Vegetable Cutters to make cute little flowers to top of cupcakes.

Excellent fondant!
I never write reviews, but this was such a wonderful product I had to! I've used many brands of fondant and this was by far the best...so easy to work with and I was able to get it very thin for a large cake with absolutely no tears! Will certainly order again!

Disappointed
I am a professional cake decorator for over 30 years. I have had my own cake decorating business for the past 7 years. I was excited to try a something new. I was disappointed with this product. It did not take Americolor gels very well. I tried tinting it pink for decorations. It was a very muted shade, not vibrant like I wanted. I also had some other fondant that I tinted and it turned a vibrant in color so I know it wasn't my food coloring gels. I've attached 2 photos of the cake I made using the fondant. I used it for everything pink on this cake and cupcakes. I guess you could say it was better than nothing. I won't be purchasing this fondant again.

No good
I don't use fondant hardly ever but this stuff was terrible. We had this in white and we had Satin Ice fondant in blue (rolled the two together to make marble). The Satin Ice was like playdough. It worked beautifully. This stuff was so difficult to work with and would crack whereas the blue was perfect. I'll know next time to only get the Satin Ice brand.

A mix of satisfactory and marginal performance...
I placed this fondant in the hands of an experienced avocational baker to put it through its paces. Here's what we learned:-Excellent workability. Rolled easily and thinly with ease.-Easily colored (with frosting coloring).-This fondant did not firm up enough to hold a 3-dimensional ribbon effect with confidence (as compared to Wilton fondant); the ribbon in the picture did not set sufficiently to allow it to travel with confidence from the test kitchen to the dining location (by car).-Taste: a total non-starter. Under the best of circumstances, any fondant's taste can only be described as "marginal". This fondant didn't even clear that bar.See accompanying image for the results achieved with this fondant.
