My first full HD LED monitor and I like it!
I was looking for an affordable 20-23" full HD, LED-LCD monitor screen to substitute for my old (secondary) 17" LG LCD monitor that complemented my (primary) Samsung screen.I stumbled upon this screen whilst searching for a Dell monitor, actually, that was recommended by a friend. I read good reviews and was intrigued by the VESA mount that is built into the base and the slim design. Now to the details of what I found so far (owned it for about 2 weeks):Packaging: - neatly packaged in a slim box that already shows how slim the monitor is - included are a driver/utility software CD, a power adapter, quick setup guide and a regular VGA cableSetting it up: - The first shock was that I could NOT use the stand as a wall mount. The description is misleading; the stand can be used TO BE MOUNTED to a wall mount but you still have to buy the additional, compatible hardware! Not really bad but still very disappointing since I was looking forward to gaining desktop space - The stand needs to be unfolded before you can put the screen on your desk; instructions are pretty clear. It also seems flimsy but definitely does its job. - Connection to the PC and power supply should not be a problem or you should not own a computer at all!Features: - The tricky part was to find the power switch. It was supposedly located in the base but I could NOT find it! The I realized that there are some tiny ridges in the base that are touch-sensitive buttons for on-screen display (OSD) navigation and power. Pretty cool but not my personal favorite. - Right out of the box the brightness is almost blinding! I had to scale it from 90% to less than 30% to make it somewhat comparable to my Samsung. - The OSC navigation is basically like all others; a few buttons are used to go up/down, select and exit the menu items. You can change a lot but what is missing is the quick select for presets like text, gaming, video etc. with just one click (or maybe I just haven't found it yet) - the supplied utility software is mediocre and I uninstalled it after a half hour maybe. Same features (or even less) than the OSD and with running Windows 7 I did not take advantage of the screen-splitting program yet. - The picture quality is great but I have no direct comparison to other LED screens; it is definitely brighter than my Samsung Syncmaster but that's not surprising. I haven't detected any dead pixels or other manufacturing problems. In conclusion, I am very pleased with the purchase and watching blu-ray movies full HD on my PC is a great experience! It should be more clearly stated that the stand is not a wall mount but that a wall mount can be attached to it. The stand is also a bit wobbly but for such a light-weight screen it will work.

Decent Monitor for Price
For the price this monitor is great. Shipping was fast with no hitches. I bought two to run simultaneously on my business computer. Really helps increase my productivity.

Very Good... but for the price, GREAT!
I was bumbling around Fry's when I bumped into one of these 23" AOC monitors for a very attractive price. I'd been meaning to upgrade a 19" 5:4 Dell monitor at work, and the nice reviews combined with the value finally caused me to follow through. The packaging is extremely nice because unlike other LCD monitors I've owned, this box opens across the broad side, there's a square styrofoam panel to pull off, and laying there is the monitor and base, assembled and ready to go. Literally press a slide lock release on the underside of the base, unfold the base from the screen, and it's ready to sit on the desk. No assembly required!Further, the power and video cable plug into the base, so unlike my Samsung, Dell and BenQ LCDs, there are no goofy cables hanging down from the monitor itself. And the power cable goes through a stand-alone transformer first, so it's just a lightweight barrel plug entering the base (similar to what you plug in to your computer's speakers), not the bulky 3-prong AC cable.Note there is no USB hub or audio built in to this display. As another reviewer mentioned, the five touch sensitive power & menu buttons are 'hidden' on the base. They are in fact hidden, being white on white -- though they do illuminate with backlights once the power is up and running. The on screen menu is no better or worse to navigate than most other displays I've dealt with, though to its advantage the buttons are much more natural to press being on the base, versus having to reach up and make multiple presses of physical buttons on the display bezel itself.I, too, found this display to be unusually bright. I can't tell (and didn't research) whether the screen is side lit or back lit, but the coverage is very even. I've found 50% brightness to work well for me under bright office lighting, though it's a touch dark for video if I go on a YouTube detour while on the clock. It's worth noting that the actual height of this 23 inch screen is close to an inch shorter than the 19 inch Dell this is replacing, though with the generous increase in resolution, my overall screen real estate has increased (approaching double the resolution in width).Because of the construction of the stand, adjusting the tilt angle on the display is not really in the cards, and the optimal viewing angle is straight on to slightly high. If the monitor sits higher than eye level, the brightness drops off a bit. However, side to side viewability is fine for desk duty. The sexy thinness -- yes, this is real, it's no thicker than my Blackberry -- is lost once it's in use, unless you happen to have a setup where you see your monitor from the side a lot. If I want to show it off to a co-worker, I actually need to point out this striking profile.I did have to supply my own DVI cable with this. The transformer is powered by a standard 3-prong AC cable that your old monitor probably uses, so that eases setup even further (but it does come with its own). I didn't have the need to install any drivers to hit this monitor's native resolution, so was able to leave the CD sealed in its sleeve. The base is just a tad wobbly because the whole screen is being supported by an arm the size of a domino, but I seriously can't imagine this ever being a problem.Want an inexpensive, big, beautiful display for your PC? This ought to get your attention.

Good for non gaming
The monitor has served me well for a few years. After getting more into gaming though the 50-60hz isn't up to par for what i'm looking for. To everyone else, solid item. I paid around $100-150 for it.

Cheap, Large, washed out low contrast image
For price it's good but the image is very poor. It's washed out, like you've got the brightness too high. Pictures look like they are over exposed. No matter how I tweak the settings, text appears thin and grey instead of sharp and black. It'll do for now, but I would never get one again.

Super thin but read the instructions...
So, I have been looking to upgrade from my Samsung 19" Syncmaster and I really wanted an LED monitor for space savings. They had this one at my local Best Buy for $169.99, I asked for 10% off and they gave it to me. Got it home and it was packaged very well. **Make sure you read the instructions on how to get it opened up and straightened up. There is a small metal switch on the bottom of the base that has to be switched over to open it up. This can rip off a fingernail and almost did with me. The OSD's are ok but all you need to do is take the brightness down about 35-40% and this baby is beautiful! I have experienced no issues so far and all is working well. I am looking for a USB to VGA adapter so I can use the Samsung as a dual monitor setup.
