Great spice
It’s not scary spicy as it might suggest. Used 1/3 cup of it for 1 head of Napa cabbage for kimchi and it was very mild. I added some more for another batch

it's spicy!
I bought this on a recommendation from my favorite DIY guy (Pro Home Cooks) I couldn't find the heat level on it and THEN I used too ding much of it the first try : ( I'm a slow learner that I didn't think to use a small amount the first time ... it's good. Although not everyone here likes the spicy ... next batch less (far less)!! As I sit here coughing with a few tears in my eyes.FAR less!

Hot and goooood
I bought this specifically to make hot chili oil. I use it in combination with cut hot peppers, garlic, black vinegar, carrier oil and sesame oil. It adds an extra depth of flavor and heat for sure. I also use it in place of chili flake on Korean and other SE asian dishes. Recently we put it on Green Papaya Salad when we couldn't find Thai Chilies at our local grocer and it added a good amount of heat. I've had it for about a month and it's kept well and hasn't lost its flavor. I decanted from the package into a 4 oz glass jar for easier access. I'll def restock when I run out, which at this rate will be soon.

Great for Korean recipes
I’ve been cooking more this pandemic and perfecting my jjigae. Being new to Cooking Korean food (big fan, just haven’t cooked much myself), I was at first a little hesitant to add as much red pepper to a recipe as was called for. I love spicy food, but if I had added an equivalent amount of red pepper flakes, I would have burned my face off. But these don’t have as much heat, have a great flavor, and are a must. Highly recommend adding this to your pantry!

Worked perfectly for cucumber kimchi!
Saw a video online and decided to make cucumber kimchi. Bought this pack of gochugaru and it worked perfectly with the recipe I was following! The recipe called for 2 TBSP of gochugaru, so I probably would want a larger quantity in the future, as the amount in this pack will probably not be sufficient for making kimchi in bulk. But absolutely was enough for my needs!
