Rough CountryFront Sway Bar Links for 1980-1997 Super Duty F-250/F-350-1022

Most everyone who has a 92-97 F250 or F350 that isn't a mechanic ends up returning these due to rough country failing to put one vital piece of information on the instructions that these links come with, and that's the fact that once you have installed a lift kit, the original FRONT SWAY BAR WILL NO LONGER BE COMPATIBLE without some sort of additional pieces or alterations to the truck. You can delete the sway bar but it isn't good for your truck to do that. And that is what I see most people doing. There are two ways you can make your original sway bar attach to the these after market sway bar links for the 90s model Ford pick ups (after it has been lifted obviously). I have a 97 F250 (last year they made that body style... 92-97 I believe). 1) You buy what they call sway bar drop down brackets that will enable you to clear the leaf spring just enough to re-attach the original sway bar to the after market links or 2) you can do what I have done which is replacing both link brackets' bolts with longer ones. I would recommend option 1 which is only about $40. That will allow the original sway bar to completely clear the after market leaf springs; I just so happen to have had some extra M11 bolts laying around that had just enough additional length to them for me to make it work otherwise I would have bought the drop brackets... and probably still should but for now they seem to be working just fine. I guess there is a third option and that would be to purchase an aftermarket sway bar... but that's not necessary at all unless you just want to spend more money than you have to. Your truck will ride much better with a sway bar, as it was designed for. There's no logical reason to delete it. Don't be lazy because one day when you sell your truck, you will run into someone like me who will want to buy it but wont when he sees its missing. Food for thought. Hope this helps someone.
