Check the wiring!
5 stars because it does what it's intended. However, check the wiring before using.Mine was wired in reverse polarity, therefore, would not work.Furthermore, the ground pin was in the wrong spot and needed to be moved to pin one. I referred to the sloppy mechanics wiki to get the proper pin connections.Additionally, the connector to the PCM is pretty cheap and doesn't fit great.Lastly, this works just fine and does exactly what you expect it to do. I was able to read and write without upgrading the power supply though I was fully prepared and okay with doing so.UPDATE 4-16-2024,I ended up upgrading to a larger power supply as the one supplied would not work on the P59 pcm. If your on a 512 P01 pcm it should work but be ready to upgrade the power supply potentially.

Works after you fix it.
Power was connect to ground and ground to power. The ground pin is in the wrong location, you will have to pin it to #1. The supplied power supply is not strong enough to support writing to the PCM. Found an old firetv power supply and that was able to get the harness to both read/write.

Wires were fine and worked straight out of the box
Ordered in August of 2025 (08/05/2025) and the wires were completely CORRECT. I didn’t have to rewire anything and it worked straight out the box. Cheapest bench kit out there. Thanks

Works as advertised
No issues at all, removed from package plugged into the wall and connected to hp tuners to write my tune. Could not be more happy.

No Issues
You can use the pictures to compare. Like another reviewer posted, it needs refining. The splices were just wrapped together, not soldered.Overall, it worked for reading and writing P59s out of the box, power worked fine. The time it would take to source the parts and build this it would have been more than the price.

Didn’t work without rewiring.
Power was wired completely backwards and some of the plastic clips that hold it together were broken so it doesn’t want to come out of ecm without falling apart. Overall it’s cheaply made and though I made it work, if I could do it over I would have just sourced the parts and built one.

Not properly wired but it would probably work
The ground wire was pinned out to a sensor ground pin (pin 60) rather than one of the proper PCM grounds. They are likely connected together internally inside the PCM so it would probably power the controller anyway but it might not provide reliable power. The wiring on the wall plug is very thin and has no strain protection so it will be prone to damage unless you take special care of the product. The OBD2 port appears to be of good quality, no concerns there. The last comment is on the connector itself. The blue connector guards are quite loose on the white connector base, almost as if the connector is a poorly fitting replica. I've not looked at many GM PCM connectors so I'm not sure if this is common or not.Overall, I expect this product to work but it does not follow best practices and is far from professional grade.
