Sleeping like a baby, again!
I purchased this 3" gel memory foam topper on Oct 11th and received it on Oct 14th.This topper typically lists for $159⁹⁰ but I bought it on a 'Lightening Deal', saving me $31⁹⁸, plus the seller included a $10 off coupon, so my final cost with tax was $127⁶⁵... and, it was during the Amazon Day July sale event!I bought this mattress topper to rejuvenate the comfort lost on my 13 y/o aging Tempurpedic Cloudluxe mattress, which I purchased at the recommendation of my orthopedic Dr.Tempurpedic marketing claims its mattresses can hold up to a 20 year life. No doubt Tempurpedic makes a great product, albeit costly, however I can attest, their claim of a 20 year life is somewhat subjective. While the pillow-top Tempurpedic mattress I purchased didn't require periodic flipping, I have rotated it on a semi-annual basis to maintain quality, simply because I'm the only one sleeping on it. But after 13 yrs, the 9" mattress plus its 2" pillow-top now measures only 9" total. It had lost so much of its pillow-top comfort that I was waking up with stiff knees, elbows, and an aching back. I just couldn't justify spending $2,800+ on a new mattress when there are now less costly options available. My research for mattress toppers was extensive, time consuming, and quite frankly, frustrating!I filtered my searches for a combination of gel/memory foam, cooling toppers, rated four-star or better. But every time I thought I'd found what might be the perfect match, there would be several verified buyer reviews rating the product just one-star... and they were convincingly reasonable reviews, ugh! Most everything about this topper is true to the listing description.Unlike others have said, the topper was completely void of any chemical smell!Once I unboxed and released the vacuum packed topper from the packaging bag, I put it on my bed and immediately measured it - it was just under 3 inches. The instructions recommend walking on it for several minutes to help decompress it faster. I think they mean to lay it out on a floor to walk on, but I already had it on the bed when I read that part, so I walked with it on the bed, lol!I left it to finish decompressing for about 16 hours before making the bed. By the next day, the topper measured exactly 3".This topper is well constructed with a zippered cover - the upper side is pleasingly soft to the touch; the bottom side has a dotted non-slip coating. This topper is precisely what I needed! It has definitely improved my sleep quality and I no longer wake up with body aches or in pain. I have slept the entire night through since I made this purchase.I can't really speak to the cooling effect of this topper as I don't get hot while sleeping. My bed frame has 12" footings, a 6" base, and a 9" mattress - so by adding a 3" topper to my bed, it's now ~ a 30" jump to get on the bed, lol! As a senior, I can see where the height might become problematic. If/when that time comes, I'll just remove the frame footings to lower the bed 12". So be aware that if you've already got a 12+" mattress with box springs and/or base, and frame footings (legs) you'll be adding 3" of height to your bed.The only con I can find about this topper, which is not a deal breaker for me, is the non-slip coating on the underside does not prevent it from sliding... I kinda wish the manufacturer had attached elastic corner straps that tuck under the mattress to keep the topper aligned on the bed. But, I can see where straps for a 12" mattress might not work on any mattress thinner or thicker than 12" - idk, maybe straps that could be adjusted with snaps or buttons would work.Regardless, it didn't take me long to discover that the sliding was a result of me sitting on the side of the bed while putting on my socks and shoes - which I don't need to do, I've got a 20" upholstered bench at the foot of the bed that's a perfect height for such tasks. Since I've stopped sitting on the side of the bed to get dressed, sliding is minimal, but when it does occur I can easily correct it when laundering the bedding each week. This topper has been a game changer for me. By body has been subjected to a lot of orthopedic trauma, so I'm not comfortable sleeping on a firm mattress. While this topper is very soft, it is supportive for my 160 lb body and leaves no gaps or voids between my body and the mattress. Due to its softness not everyone will like it, especially if you want, need, or desire firm support.

I finally slept all night
I love this topper - I had so much pain during the night before I got this . Now I sleep most of the night without pain. It had no smell when I opened it. It is not hard hard firm but it is comfy and makes me want to sleep.😄

Very comfortable
Overall I found it very comfortable and it was easy to place on the bed. I like the corner straps that keep it in place 😏

I was very reluctantly talked into attending a school mattress fundraiser by my 13yo. I didn't want to pay any more than I had to, so I went SUPER cheap and bought the lowest end model off the floor (and still overpaid. But hey, good cause). The mattress turned out to be only a hair better than camping out in a tent on the hard dirt ground with only the sleeping bag as a cushion. While my husband likes sleeping on almost-concrete, this mama's hips say absolutely no! I woke up after three hours in discomfort. Three more hours and I was so happy to see daylight, as I was now in pain, falling out of bed with only my feet responding to life for at least 5 minutes. My husband was like, "What? Feels fine to me." And I replied with, "I can either trade for one of the kids' beds and they sleep in our bed, or we do something about this." He immediately saw the light and got on mission. I promptly looked for mattress toppers. Side-note that we do have a MyPillow topper my mom gifted us which works great, at our city house. But I had to use something for the months-long transition to our small new country house. I didn't want to spend yet more on the stupid mattress than I must, but I needed a solution.Enter angel-music and light from above...er, this mattress topper. It arrived before I even needed it-yay! We promptly remade the bed, and that night tried out the mattress. Oh. My. Word. TRANSFORMATION! YES! Not only did I not wake up in discomfort after three hours, but I slept extremely well.We had the same problem to fix for the "guest bed." It's one of those armless chairs that converts down into a bed, which is between twin and full size. Talk about ironing boards. Dang. This one might have been even worse than the fundraiser bottom-of-the-barrel mattress. I ordered this twin size thinking it would fit. Boom! Perfection. Had to buy full size sheets, but this topper worked great. I put a nice twin-sized comforter on it, a king sized pillow, and voila, we are as mismatched as chalk and cheese and good to go. Now I can sleep at night with a clear conscience and not feel like the worlds worst host AND sleep in general because the board-bed issue is solved. Yeehaw!

Wimpy zipper that jams. Do not use on an adjustable bedframe.
Almost two years having this topper and decided to remove the foam insert and wash the cover. The zipper that goes around 2/3 of the foam is the smallest thinnest zipper in existence. It came off OK. But when putting it back on, going very slowly and carefully, the zipper jammed. Inspection with a magnifying glass revealed the zipper was not caught on any material as often happens. The cover is now unusable. Also I use this topper on a memory foam mattress and an adjustable bedframe. This foam does not hold up to such flexing and has a foot long rip through the middle.
