Inspiring!
It is very inspiring to see the thought process that goes into creating works of fiction of any kind. Especially when it is Neil Gaiman himself, who has dabbled in every form of writing there is. He's done graphic novels, films, TV series, novels, children's books, middle-grade books, novellas and everything in between. I've always been a huge Neil Gaiman fan, and I honestly can't remember when or how it started, but I do know it began with his novels - American Gods, Neverwhere - the classics. Later, I started reading books targeted at younger readers, like Coraline and The Graveyard Book, and I found that I really enjoyed those as well. Then I started reading his illustrated books like A Cave in the Black Mountain and The Sleeper and the Spindle, then his children's books like Crazy Hair and Blueberry Girl, and finally...I picked up his famous graphic novels - The Sandman series. There were things I felt 'meh' about, but the good always outweighed the bad, and soon, my bookshelf was filled with Gaiman's works. Reading this book was enlightening, because I realized that on top of all this stuff, there was a ton more stuff that Neil Gaiman worked on that I was familiar with, but had no idea he was involved in! Things like films and TV series to be specific. He's a very talented person, very gifted writer, with a mind that baffles. The characters he produces, the stories he comes up with - his muses and inspirations are all revealed in this biography. I really enjoyed reading about him and his work, and it only made me respect him more as a writer.

Just.....wow!
This book arrived, to me, about 2 days ago and I have not only already finished it, but keep going back through it to re-read some of the notes and scribbles, from Neil Gaiman.I have been a Neil Gaiman fan for many, many, years, and as soon as I saw this book - I just knew I would love it too. Great insight on what he was doing, thinking, feeling, when writing certain things. And as big of a fan as I say I am, I even have to admit that I never knew just how many comics Gaiman was heavily involved in.All this to say - if it's you that is the Neil Gaiman fan, or a family member, friend.....well, THIS is the book! Pictures, detailed information on his life, scribbles, drawings, post cards, etc.You will NOT regret this purchase.

Bought this for my wife and it is simply amazing!!
Bought this for my wife and it is simply amazing!!! It's a very thick book, great quality and there is so much inside it's hard to really put into words. There are photos, handwritten notes from Neil, doodles, letters between friends of his. It's a fantastic look into Neil's personality. Delivery didn't take long at all and there was no damage whatsoever.

A great buy for the price!!
A wonderful dive into the mind of Neil Gaiman. Well written and interesting. It's not often you get to go behind the scenes and see and hear where a writer came from and what made them what they are today. Spectacular book.

GREAT book, but look for it in hardcover, not paperback
This is a fascinating book, full of juicy trivia for fans of Neil Gaiman's fiction. The illustrations are gorgeous, too. However, if you're going to buy a copy, I recommend the hardcover edition. I bought the paperback, and -- to me -- it looks like they trimmed the margins to fit trade paperback dimensions. I practically have to pry the book open with both hands, trying to see or read anything at the center of each two-page spread. The book is great. It's just the cropping and binding that fail in the paperback format.Unless you're buying this book to take apart and use for a display of some kind, get the hardcover edition.
