Same item and quality as things I've seen for twice or thrice the price at brick-and-mortar retailers.Generous space in the crown -- hats often don't fit me, as I have a 23.5" head circumference, but this one isn't tight around the band and has enough crown height to fit my head into it instead of kind of awkwardly sitting on top and falling off like most hats do. I usually have to pull out the ribbon sewn inside the crown and stretch women's hats to get them to fit right, but this one fits out of the box.The elastic chin strap is sewn in place and can be easily cut out or positioned behind your head if you don't want it under your chin.Mine was pretty creased out of the box, but I ironed it and it looks as nice as anything I've seen in stores. I pressed the brim flat on my ironing board (hottest setting, lots of steam) and wadded up a towel inside the hat's crown to press the top. The biggest tell that it's a cheap hat is the long stitch length used to assemble it, which is nigh invisible anyway. The brim wire takes some fussing with to get it straightened out, but your patience will be rewarded with a rather nice hat.

Great for sun protection and looking classy at the beach or anywhere. Comfortable. Can be formed a bit. And believe it even has an elastic strap for the wind that you can tuck up into the hat if you don't need it.

The hat is working out fine. It fits just a bit snug. Just snug enough where I'm not afraid it will fly off in a heavy breeze, but not so snug that it's uncomfortable. It arrived folded and flat (oh no!), so I put a towel under and over the brim and ran an iron over it to flatten out the creases (took all of 5 minutes) and it looks like the pohto now. It's very effective sun protection. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. The little extra work I did having to "prepare" it after shipping saved me $35-$40 extra that I would have paid at the mall to buy it in a store in "ready to wear" condition.

I was a little nervous because the negative reviews on this hat talking about the hat arriving bent out of shape and not being able to fix it. The hat arrived today and while it was folded, it unfolded easily. The wire in the brim is very flexible and as long as you take two minutes to go around and work the kinks out, it looks fine. There are some creases in the hat from where it was folded, but they look like they'll flatten out over time. If not, I'm sure taking a low iron to it would do the trick. There is an elastic band on the inside of the hat to help hold it onto your head in case of wind (I've no need for the feature since I purchased this for a halloween costume, but I figured it was worth mentioning). There is the remnents of a tag that appears to have been torn out, but it doesn't affect anything with the hat itself so I don't really care. The hat is large enough to fit my head even with a wig on but snug enough that it doesn't feel like it's slipping off or sliding around. Overall, a very good hat and perfect for my Lydia (Beetlejuice) costume.

I bought this for a Halloween costume and forgot to review it.The hat hardly fit my head with the wig, let alone the wig itself. I was Lydia from Beetlejuice. It looks nice and the quality is great but if you have a big head and actually plan on using this outside of dressing up, it’s a no.

I got this to be the hat for my Yoko Ono costume for halloween and it worked perfect! Although the material was different that what I was expecting (felt a little more straw-like than I thought it would), I loved how it looked! The actual hat part did not fit on my head, but there is an elastic band meant to go around your neck that kept the hat perfectly in place all night. I would like to mention that I'm pretty small and the elastic was pretty tight, so I would be conscious of that when buying. The outside brim of the hat has some kind of wire in it that allows you to change the shape of the hat, which I thought was super useful. Overall, extremely content with this purchase and I definitely plan on wearing this in the future with any outfit, not just the costume I had!

I don't know what everyone was whining about. This hat is GORG! It absolutely DID NOT arrived stuffed into a small bag. Instead, it arrived in a large box and had only been folded down the center. It DID NOT have any dramatic creases as other reviews suggested. The one center crease was quickly eliminated just with me wearing it around the house for about an hour. The metal rim is very sturdy and allows you to bend the hat to fit whatever look you might want to achieve. It looks more expensive than the $9.00 I paid for it and shipping was surprisingly fast. I am an advocate for giving credit where credit is due. Having said that, I am very happy with my purchase and will definitely purchase more from this seller before summer is over.

This hat arrived fast enough considering it came all the way from China . However, upon opening the package and removing the contents , I notice how cheaply this hat is made . It has absolutely no body to it and feels soft and mushy . There is no shortage of wrinkles either as it was a complete mess after removing it from the plastic envelope . I bought a similar hat like this last year for the same price but the quality seems much better . I noticed a few tiny holes in the brim but that is the least of the problems . I intend to use some spray starch on it to see if it will give the hat more body so I can bend it into shape . This is a hat you can probably buy in the 99 Cents store because that's all it's worth . Pay a little extra and buy a hat that comes with better reviews . This piece of junk is only good to wear at the beach because if it blows away , who cares ?
