Timberland Women's White Ledge Mid Ankle Hiking Boot

To admit these are my favorite boots of all time is a BOLD statement I take seriously, folks. I had to think ALL the way back! Yes, it's true. I even had to include my white Go-Go boots from the mid 1960s that were PRECIOUS.What I love about these boots: 1. They come in Wide width 2. The top isn't so high that it digs into your SHIN! 3. They are RUGGED & last. 4. They're comfy! 5. Completely waterproof. (I walk the beach. If I get caught splashing in incoming tide, my feet stay dry) 6. You walk easier in snow with these textured soles. 7. They aren't too heavy. 8. They let you walk normally, not clomp around like you have cement blocks on.These are more comfortable than any sneakers I own, & because New England has so many ticks, I wear my boots year-round. Great, versatile boot. I love mine!

Almost returned them but glad I didn't. Out of the box, they felt short. I am a 9-1/2 - 10 and since I had another pair of Timberlands, I went with the 9-1/2. The backs are angled so it pushes your foot forward. The backs are also super padded which initially also makes the boots feel short. I laced them up and wore them around the house to make sure. Today I wore them on a walk through wet and muddy trails. My feet stayed dry. The extra padding in back rubbed against the top of my heel on the right and I felt the start of a blister. I think they need some breaking in. I intend to wear them on a few short walks and hikes first. Hoping all that extra cuhsion tamps down a bit with wearing.What I love about them: They are leather and light. Some of the leather hiking boots are heavy. These feel like a cross between a boot and a sneaker. I also love that they are wide in the toe box. My feet are wide there and there is plenty of toe wiggle room. They look old school--classic. Remind me of my old lace up ski boots! Very well made. My other Timberalnds similar to this style lasted for YEARS! I love that they are year round boots--good in the cold weather but I would also wear these for summer hikes. They seem like they would be great for trips--lightweight and versatile. I am going to try them with my snow shoes too! I am hoping the heel padding issue goes away because if it does, I think I have found the perfect all around boot.

I just received these and wore them all day Christmas shopping. These boots were very comfortable and I had no problems whatsoever. I did follow other buyer's advice and purchased a half size bigger to allow for my thick socks. I bought an 8.5 instead of my normal 8 and they fit and felt great! Excellent craftsmanship. Soft leather and well made. I haven't tried them for water yet as we have not had snow yet but I'm sure they'll be just fine. Love them!!

Pros: Very comfortable, durable, and waterproof.Cons: not available in narrow width, smooth metal eyelets not great for secure lacing. I traded laces that came with the boots for laces that are less soft and it helps. Gel insoles help with the width issue.

This is my honest opinion for my new Timberland boots. I love that they're waterproof, and have grippers on the sole. With a warm hiking sock they fit as they should, keeping my heel secure and in place, no slipping around; therefore, no blisters (YEA). My toes still have room to move without being sloppy. I got my normal size (7) & the laces are the perfect length, I am able to lace completely up. They provide good ankle stability while hiking on uneven terrain in the woods. Which is where I wear them often. I oiled them with "Red Wing Mink Oil Paste" as soon as I received them, doing so softens and conditions the leather to aide the breaking in process. They were honestly very comfortable from the moment I put them on. I wore them for 12 hrs while making firewood and by the time I took them off that evening they were broke in. (My feet were still dry AND did not hurt!) The padding around the ankle and the tongue is comfortable without being to bulky. I did a lot of research before my purchase of these boots. Timberland boots offered the best qualities for the price. I am beyond happy with my decision to buy these boots!! I have NO complaints. The pros and cons of these Timberland boots are;Pro: comfortable, provide excellent stability and traction, well made, fair price, waterproof, removable footbed insert for ease of airing out.Con: NONE SO FAR (been 14 days continuous wear in snow, sleet and freezing rain, temps from the mid 30s to -10)I hope my review helps you make the decision to buy these boots. I bought these boots for my upcoming Alaska cruise. So far, my first impression is that they have the following:1. Looks: very nice looking boot with the added function of the tie to make them more tight or loose depending on the person. They also don’t make my feet look big like others do.2. Comfort- they are so comfortable. I don’t want to take them off!3. Quality- I am so happy with the quality of these shoes! Above and beyond my expectations.I bought Columbia hiking boots too and these are definitely the keepers and way better than the Columbia ones.Happy camper!

I have been using this model of Timberland boot for two years for hiking. As suggested by others, I ordered my new boots one half size larger. The slightly larger boot was an excellent idea and the fit is very comfortable. If you are currently using this boot, I agree with others that your new Timberland boots should be slightly larger. A well made boot and an excellent purchase.
