Wonderful Cassette to MP3 Converter - Very pleased
LOVE this cassette converter. It is perfect for what I wanted to to - take a recording from a live concert over 30 years ago and create and .mp3 version for my ITunes library. It works great. Very pleased with this purchase. Would highly recommend it for anyone who has old cassette tapes who would like to take a walk down memory lane for an experience that can not be purchased on a studio recorded cd. To be honest I did not even know these this existed so I was very happy when I found the item on Amazon and read the other customer reviews. Five stars all the way. Highly recommend this item and the Amazon seller.

Do Not Waste Your Money!!
I have been looking forward to converting tapes that my grandmother had recorded her bedtime stories and lullabies she sang to me as a child. She gave a cassette tape to everyone in the family a few years ago, and I wanted to convert it to mp3 and make CD copies for my entire family because of how limited cassette players are these days. The minute I received this in the mail, I was skeptical because of how light it was and how flimsy it looks. Very cheaply put together. I remember my own Walkman in the 1990's being more sturdy and well-made! I put her tape into the unit, put 2 AA batteries in, plugged a USB flash drive into the side, and followed the directions (which were very hard to understand, by the way, as they were horribly translated to English from something else). While it did record, that's the only positive thing I can say about this piece of junk. Once I transferred the recorded song onto the computer, I was extremely disappointed. The noises it made while I was recording actually transferred and was recorded into the song. I tried it again, but this time put the converter on a towel, hoping that it would resolve the clicking and vibrating noises. Didn't do a thing to help. I tried it a 3rd time, and instead of using my copy of the cassette my grandma gave me, I used my daughter's copy. Didn't matter- the clicking, bumping, and distorted vibrating resumed and all the songs we ended up with had those noises recorded into the songs, not to mention the voice was recorded at a lower octave than what my grandmother actually sounds like. WAY overpriced at $36!! I immediately looked for Refund instructions and the very next day, returned this piece of junk. Amazon was very quick to give me my money back in form of Amazon credit, and you can bet I won't be purchasing any more contraptions like this. My memories mean everything to me, and so I will continue searching for a product that will do the job correctly.

Workable, not very satisfactory
I have a bunch of 10- to 15-year-old cassettes with interesting talks on them. So far, I've tried it on 3 of them. This product does copy the tape to a USB thumb drive, as advertised, with these drawbacks:-- The recording comes out noticeably slowed down. The manufacturer did recommend trying the free Audacity software, so it didn't take me long to figure out how to take the mp3 this product produced and speed it up and re-export it. I don't find that there's a predictable percentage to speed it up by (perhaps that depends on the tape). But this does take a little extra time.-- The quality obtained is bearable, but not great, there are a few syllables missing here and there.-- Normally, when I record from one thing to the other, I put the source to a little before where it starts, hit "play" on the source, and immediately hit "record" on the destination. When I do that on this device, it skips recording the first bit of the cassette, even though I'm sure there's a few seconds of blank space before the talk starts.I also wish that the manufacturer had taken the time to get a good English translation of the instructions. I could follow the instructions -- I think -- with effort. It sells for about $34.00, but it's not worth half that.

I am looking for a higher quality MP3 converter. ...
I am looking for a higher quality MP3 converter. This one is a little flimsy, but it does work. I am also looking for a mini cassette converter.

Great little Converter no PC connections needed
I have been using it since I got it to convert my tape on books to MP3.So far so good, there are some sides that the volume is low and sometimes a side the volume will be too high. This may be attributed to if I am using my PC heavily as I do choose to use the USB Powered option to power the device instead of using batteries.I also need to stitch together the sides to complete the full book, to do this I recommend using Audacity (Free Program) to tweak the recordings.Audacity is free and easy to use you can youtube it to get a simple crash course.Someone asked if you can listen to Cassettes and you can, it comes with earphones. You could also use your cars USB to power the device and use the Headphones plug in with an Audio cable and run it to your cars inputThe Converter is very simple to use and so far (5 Books in) no problems. Very Happy with it so far!

Cassette to MP3 Conversion on a Flash Drive without a Computer!
I spent many hours trying to get my older ezcap Cassette to MP3 Converter to work with Windows 10 and Audacity 2.1.2 software, but the computer would not recognize the USB Cassette device, and no sound was transferred to the computer. I finally gave up, thinking my hardware, which once worked on Windows 7, had become defective, so I ordered a new one. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the EzCAP230 device converts cassette tapes to MP3 files on a Flash Drive, which can then be copied to the PC without regard to the latest version of Windows or Audacity software. After one successful conversion, I could not get it to work the second time. Pressing the Record Button did not start the recording as it did the first time. The Instructions say that is "due to a poor USB Flash Drive Connection. Unplug and try again." However, this did not solve the problem. I was operating the Cassette Player with internal batteries instead of using DC power from the PC USB connector. There is no Power Off switch, so there is no way to do a Power-On-Reset for the internal Firmware in the Cassette Player. When I removed the batteries and connected the USB cable to the PC for DC power, I was able to do a Power-On-Reset by disconnecting and reconnecting the USB Cable, which reset the firmware to default startup mode, and now it works every time.
