New life for my '97 Stumpjumper FSR!
I can't say enough about Origin 8 products. They are by no means the TOP of the line, but they offer something for everyone at a very reasonable price, and I've yet to have anything fail between brakes, rear racks, everything I've tried on updated conversions. This stem was exactly what I was looking for to convert my old Specialized Stumpy/Judy Shock over to the current handlebars, and made my life a ton easier switching between different styles of bars until I found the rise I liked. However I did put a small plastic sleeve around the top of it to make the female/male fit a little tighter, I actually used the white plastic piece that came with/on this and modified it slightly to fit with a knife as a sort of internal bushing. Would buy again, and probably will buy again!

Fits a cheapo Huffy!!!
I have a Huffy bike the I bought used and am fixing up and I hated the handle bars so I bought a new set. Well, the new set had a 31.8 mm tube so I couldn't use the old neck......Origin 8 to the rescue!!! All of the questions about whether it will fit a cheapo bike are answered right here! If you want to customize your Huffy and buy a 31.8mm handlebar this is what you want. The photos are of the 110mm length FWI

An excellent way to extend the life of an older bike for casual riders
This is quite possibly the highest impact, most cost effective upgrade you can do on an older bike for casual riders. The construction and durability of this stem gives me confidence. For casual riders who's most technical terrain is a curb or a maintained dirt path, this will hold up for a while. It's a nice, cost effective way to upgrade and customize an older bike and use more current gear. Restoring the joy of riding for under thirty bucks is a bargain.

Good and stiff
It's sort of tough to find a 1" quill stem with a decent rise and a removable face-plate, especially with a 31.8mm clamp for the new road or mtn bars. I like the 4-bolts on this stem--sometimes two-bolt stems creak and I never feel that safe on them--but the bolts on this stem are pretty cheap. They aren't stainless--just painted black. The wedge bolt is heavy-steel too, not alloy. But, all in all, this is a good stiff stem and I'm happy with this purchase.

Simple Modification, Great Results
I have an inexpensive mtb that I have recently started riding in preparation to buy a road bike. The stock bar setup was too short and narrow. I purchased this stem in order to fit a set of 31.8/270mm bars. I chose 110mm for extra height. This was a perfect solution and my cheapo is starting to feel like a legitimate mtb. Fit and finish is decent for the price.

Breat Product
These fit my two bikes perfectly. I recommend them. I put one pair on my son-in-laws bike an one on my bike. They are well built. I bought two and believe they will last a long time.

New handle bars on an old bike.
Most of the newer handle bars are a larger diameter, but the neck is smaller on the older bikes. This works great.

Works well, looks nice
Be aware, I have two of these in the each have a slightly different design at the quill bolt. In a practical sense though, they are the same.
