This for a cheaper aftermarket option was good the complaints i have is the terminal ends fell off and needed new ones. And the sensor dose not adjust far enough to show down all the way on the gauge. Reading the resistance of the sender should go to 0 or close to it and this one only goes to about 13 which shows in the middle of down and quarter down on the gauge. Shown in pictures. Other than that works fine. Up on my gauge is all the way up on the outdrive.

The media could not be loaded.  Buyer beware. This product is not made for a boat. From what I've read, a boat trim sender (nearly all makes and models) have a resistance from 0 to around 175 ohms. So that means that when the drive is all the way down, the trim sender is sending 0 ohms. When the drive is lifted upward, the ohms increase. So one would expect that half tilt would put out roughly 80-90 ohms. Well, at about 1/8 tilt, this thing is sending all 175 ohms and making my gauge read that the drive is all the way trimmed up.I checked the total resistance on this thing, it went from 0 to 1,170. Wow. Horrible piece of Chinese junk. Do not buy. Thankfully, before I messed with trying to pull in this new wire through my transom (engine still installed) I tested it. I'm sending it back and ordering a different type with better reviews.

Worked perfect replacement on 2001 Gaston Sx

Got this to replace my Volvo Penta Duoprop sending unit. Got it installed and it signals completely in reverse. I tried switching wires around to no avail. So when I actually have the trim all the way down, it signals all the way up, and vice versa. It simply depends on whether the unit, when at the down position increases ohms from there or decreases from that position. If it was on the opposite side of my drive, it'd be fine, but there only one location it can go. Don't get for Volve Penta DPS with Faria Four Winn's trim gauge.

I bought this unit May 24th 2021 I went out the first time it work fine, the second time it did not work any more, yesterday July 28th I took a closer look at it to see why it stop working removed it from the drive and turn it manually while looking at the gauge and just keep flickering and stayed at top or on the bottom of the gauge even when you just let it sit without touching it. So find a different one and don't wast your money on this one, it could be that I just got a bad one, but the return window already closed on June 23rd 2021 so it is going to cost me another one.

The mechanic Did not want To installed it, Because it was chinese, He said it will not last, so Now I have To buy the original (volvo)

Great price but poor quality…Wanted to love but ohm range is off. Lowest setting was 40ohms needs to 11 at lowest to indicate full down position.Glad I tested before installed. Will be returning…
