I seldom write reviews. This watch deserves one. Without a doubt, it’s the best I’ve ever owned. I will attempt to answer in this review all the questions I’ve had for the first week and assume others have as well, by feature.Altimeter. Accurate. At first, I tried to calibrate it from what I thought was an inaccurate reading to the known elevation at my house. Shouldn’t have. Barometric pressures vary and in fluctuation can throw the altimeter off temporarily, from what I gather. Once it stabilized, my “calibrated” elevation was registering 250 feet low. Fortunately, there is a factory reset feature for the sensor. Reset it, and boom. Spot on. No touchy for me.Barometer. Excellent. With a barometer function the exact reading is worth very little, as elevation and weather systems can be relative. What’s important is trend. I can almost be my own weatherman, and the trend tracking gives me about 12 hours lead time on major changes. This is awesome.Thermometer. Within +/- one degree Fahrenheit. Again, I tried erroneously to “calibrate” it using the functionality to do so. And again, once the case temperature stabilized it was easily 10 degrees Fahrenheit incorrect. And yet thankfully, again, Casio built in a factory reset of the sensor for idiots like me. Which worked. So, here’s what NOT to do. Don’t think you’ll get an accurate ambient air temperature while wearing the watch on your wrist. Instead, you should expect a (somewhat inaccurate) temperature of…your wrist. The thermometer measures air temperature after sitting 20-60 minutes away from your body heat or other influences.Compass. Accurate. I prefer the cardinal direction setting, but supposedly it’s pretty spot on by degree when properly used as well. I have no complaints.Tide graph. Perfect. I happen to live in a preset city that the programmed charts have on record. The watch is right on track with my local tide tables and any app I set to the measurement location.Sunrise/sunset. Also properly programmed by location.Fishing time probabilities: These are based on solunar theory and relative moon location. Good explanation of the calculations in the full manual version found online. Spot on, and also tracks with my son’s $22 Casio Fishing Gear programming. For the record, solunar theory and related moon age and location is only ONE of the factors affecting fish activity. There are so many more, like time and weather, location, salt or fresh water, etc. Ultimately, fish do what fish do, but regarding moon location, my watch is properly programmed.Accelerometer/step tracker: Could be better, could be worse. When I’m NOT walking, it is much more sensitive than I wish and picks up quite a few extra steps. For me, I don’t mind because I learn what the differential is on my typical days and can mentally subtract the erroneous estimate of steps. Plus, I don’t mind the extra sensitivity because about half of my exercise is on a Total Gym glide board, and then I get some “credit” for my workout I wouldn’t on a less sensitive tracker. HOWEVER…when I AM walking the step tracker is deadly accurate all day. This too is more important to me, because I know my own step count per mile and I can fairly accurately estimate distance travelled with the math between two numbers.Fishing location and notes/blue tooth functionality: This feature takes the watch over the top. Unlike some bluetooth watch apps which appear to be an afterthought, in my experience this one is the real deal, and again for my watch is reliable...so far (this update four months after purchase). If used properly, a single long button press on the watch can pin your location from phone GPS in the app. Later (ideally before pinning another location...but not required), you can check that memo and see recorded barometric pressure, tide level, and fishing probability at time of catch; sunrise/sunset for the day, and moon age. At this time you can also write your own notes. I have recorded myself and other people catching fish, methods used, bait, etc.What I don't know yet is whether those amazing fish memos stay with one's Casio "account" registered to a watch for future use....in case someone changes phones or even watches with the feature. I also don’t know long term durability…four months in, I haven't put it through a lot. I actually intended to buy a G-Shock, and while looking at the features hadn’t realized I had switched to the PRO TREK line of watches. When I started to return it, I researched and found that NO G-Shock unfortunately has been built with quite this many features. If one has tide graph and steps (most important two features for me), it does not have ABC sensors, and vice versa. And none of the G-Shocks currently seem to have fishing solunar charts programmed (although I think there is one in the Japan market, but again that doesn’t have a step tracker and/or the ABC sensors). So, all that to say if I want all these features (and I do), this is the watch that fits the bill. So I’ll do my best not to drop it off a ten story building or bury it in the mud. Hopefully, the bezel doesn’t scratch as easily as some have said it does. As long as it doesn’t look like it went through a meat grinder in a year or two, I’ll be happy.Hope this helps!

I like Casio watches. I initially wanted to buy this watch in beige, but I had a beige Casio watch so I opted to get the blue. I really like it. It’s better looking in person. The blue watch has the regular digital display which is easy to read. Sometimes the negative display can be a challenge. It may require a second look or taking time to focus on reading the display. Visibility is a must for me and I can glance and know the time instantly. The hands are large and contrast of the blue and white dial is appealing. Love the band, super comfortable! I’m super pleased I bought this watch! Setting up the watch with the Blu tooth was a breeze.

Canelita en rama chaval, como dirían nuestro amigos Gallegos, despues de 2 semanas de uso y muchas pruebas voy a dar los puntos positivos y negativos del reloj; de una vez aviso que son muchos mas los positivos, realmente me ha parecido un relojazo para el precio (141 USD en la version azul), y esto lo digo porque como ya muchos sabran, ademas de ProTrek, la otra gama de Casio donde encuentras sensores y muchas funciones es en G-shock, sin embargo, si quieres un G-shock que haga lo mismo que este reloj, tienes que desembolsar de 310 a 600 USD, que si, que hay diferencias en construcción, pero no son tan grandes realmente, ambas lineas cuentan con estructura antigolpes interna, pero G-shock tiene mas material externo, lo que a la vez los hace voluminosos y poco ponibles en situaciones generales del dia a dia.Pros:- Tiene unas medidas muy agradables, y aprovecho para aclarar que en la web hay un error, o mas bien el orden de las medidas es incorrecto, puesto que este reloj no tiene 57.5 mm de diametro, el diametro real es de 50.8 mm; en cambio si tiene 57.5 mm de Lug to Lug, esto al principio me hizo dudar de adquirir el reloj puesto que al tener una muñeca de 18 cm pense que se me iba a ver de mal gusto, pero no fue así, en una muñeca de este tamaño se ve muy bien con sus 50 mm de diametro, tampoco se ve exageradamente grueso ni aparatoso. Eso si, lo recomiendo para personas con una estatura mayor a 1.70 m, no lo recomiendo para personas de baja estatura.- La correa esta super bien, no es la tipica resina dura que se agrieta y se reseca con el tiempo, es una mezcla entre resina y uretano, el resultado final es una correa suave, que se amolda perfectamente a tu muñeca, pero que a su vez es super resistente, tiene una hebilla en acero, lo que asegura durabilidad.- Aunque el manual que incluye es muy pequeño, en internet puedes encontrar el manual completo (debes buscar como: manual casio modulo 5602), con 44 paginas de información, el cual es mas que suficiente para aprender todos los trucos y funciones del reloj, creo que es un acierto no incluir un manual completo puesto que terminaria siendo tan grande como la misma caja...- El reloj fue probado bajo el agua y pasó la prueba, nunca se entró ni tampoco se empañó el reloj, recordar que Casio actualmente tiene un problema con la estanqueidad, los relojes muchas veces se empañan, recomiendo hacer esta prueba en cuanto se reciba el reloj; tambien recordar que cada vez que cambiamos batería hay que cambiar la junta torica y engrasarla muy bien o el reloj puede perder resistencia al agua.- Esto tiene muchas funciones, conté unas 20 y todas van de maravilla, además de Bluethoot, debe estar en el top 5 de relojes de Casio con la mayor cantidad de funciones en un mismo aparato, los sensores son muy exactos, eso si debes tener en cuenta que para medir la temperatura tienes que quitarte el reloj por unos 30 minutos, o te dará un dato incorrecto gracias al calor corporal; lo mismo para medir presión atmosferica es recomendable hacerlo, o con el reloj puesto despues de un tiempo, o despues de un tiempo de haberte quitado el reloj, puesto que la presón también se basa en cambios de temperatura. Como dije al principio, la relación calidad precio de esto es asombrosa, estan realmente a precio de derribo.- La construcción del reloj me parece muy acertada, es una resina bastante dura con botones texturizados para mejor agarre, el bisel esta recubierto de resina, lo que hace que cuando lo dejes boca abajo en una mesa o se te caiga, sea la resina la que recibe el golpe y no el aluminio.- La conexión Bluethoot no es anecdótica, como ocurre en muchos G-shock, realmente es muy útil en este reloj, puedes gestionar hasta la interfase de la pantalla del reloj a través de la app, te permite registrar datos de ubicación, fotos, puntos de interés, datos de pasos y calorias, ajustar la hora atómica, ajustar los sensores, las alarmas, los sonidos, etc.- La esfera tiene un gran diseño, es bastante clara y se inclina hacia una vista tipo Orient kamasu, como con esos dientes de pescado, no es una esfera recargada de información a mas no poder y te permite distinguir bien todo, la luz LED doble es muy buena, es una de las tecnologías mas recientes de Casio.- Es una ventaja que lleve cristal mineral y no zafiro, porque? pues porque el zafiro aguanta mas los arañazos pero se rompe con mucha mayor facilidad, por lo que no entiendo la mania de Casio de poner zafiro en sus G-shock o ProTrek mas caros, realmente esto hace mas fragil el reloj, no mas duro.- La acción del bisel es muy buena, ni floja, ni dura, esta muy bien para el uso que se le va a dar.- Tener en cuenta que la distribución que vende Amazon es la "C.I.", esta distribución por alguna extraña razon no incluye tarjeta de exposición ni el tipico colgante que te muestra las especificaciones del reloj, como si ocurre con todas las demas; creo que es algo concerniente al cuidado del medio ambiente.Cons- El lumen es muy regular, sin embargo, a mi modo de verlo, sobra totalmente, con las luces LED que tiene es mas que suficiente.- La app no es perfecta, aunque te permite usar todas las funciones hay un par que no funcionan del todo bien, por ejemplo la brujula falla mucho al intentar establecer un punto de referencia, y luego cuando quieres volver a ese punto, falla tambien bastante en establecer la ruta, eso es de mejorar.- El ancho de la correa tiene una medida un poco extraña de 22.5 mm, lo que puede hacer dificil encontrar recambios no oficiales.- No es Tough Solar, pero bueno, que mas esperabas que te dieran con este precio; si vamos a lo practico la batería con un uso normal te va a durar unos 3 o 4 años perfectamente, con uso intensivo de sensores y la luz LED ya podriamos hablar de un año, pero vamos, debes tener muy mala suerte para que se te acabe la batería preciso en un viaje de unos dias. Por otro lado la carga solar esta muy sobrevalorada, esta también requiere unos cambios de bateria que llegan a costar casi lo mismo que el reloj, y es una tecnología mas propensa a los daños. Además, de todos los que compramos este reloj, los que en realidad lo necesitan para uso en el campo y condiciones dificiles son muy pocos, la mayoria somos personas que vivimos en la ciudad y de vez en cuando salimos fuera de ella o del país, por lo que, sin ser un comando de unidad especial o una especie de investigador de habitats salvajes, la tecnología solar de poco te va a servir.En conclusión, es un reloj lleno de toda la tecnología reciente de Casio que no tienen algunos de los modelos mas caros, y a un precio sorprendente, en serio, casi sientes que estas robando con lo poco que pagas y todo lo que recibes. Siento que el hecho de que no tenga carga solar es algo menor para todo lo demas que te dá, también pienso que es una lastima que la gente no se incline tanto por esta linea como por otras, pero tambien considero que es culpa de Casio por no hacer un marketing debido con Protrek, las personas se estan perdiendo de una pieza increible a un precio de regalo.

La marca CASIO es garantía de calidad, por años la he preferido. La app es muy sencilla de manejar. Buen tamaño y sus funciones trabajan bien, en general.

I am happy with the watch. It is a pretty big however my wife and son say it looks good. I personally really like the look of it. I like how I can link it to my phone to make modifications fairly easy. I have not been a watch wearer most of my life but I will wear this watch daily.

Nice and chunky. Well made with a good strong strap. The strap pins are a newer design than other Casio G-shock watches I have owned. They can be released and replaced far easier.I recommend using the pro trek app via Bluetooth to personalise your settings on this watch. It’s very handy. The compass is accurate. The thermometer seems to pick up your body heat and reads very high. Which is understandable. You must have to take it off and leave it a few minutes for a proper reading. Overall I am very pleased with the watch. I hope this helps.

I have been a protrek watch owner for decades and the watch is long-lasting with good functionality. I bought this piece to replace my 12-year-old protrek. Strongly recommended for any outdoor activities.
