A very nice rail, sturdy.

Well it appears to be solid oak, I am quite handy so putting it up wasn't a problem, I have got breeze block walls so the fixings and screws are adequate, there was some minor scratching to one side of the rail,but other than that i am very pleased, the rail is very sturdy and I'm considering getting another one for further down the stairs .

I can only give this product one star. The wooden banister itself is fine and seems to be good quality. However, one of the brackets that was supplied was bent. Try as he could, the gentleman who came to fit the banister could not get it to sit flush with the wall. This banister was needed urgently for my husband to enable him to negotiate a short flight of stairs above our main stairs, so we could not wait for all the fuss of getting the current item changed. Instead the fitter rushed off to the nearest hardware store and got 2 decent brackets. So, yes, it is fitted now and looks good but my advice to the company supplying these banisters is to include decent brackets - or to make sure someone checks over that any supplied are 100% straight.

The wooden rail is nice enough, a bit over priced but would be acceptable if it had better quality and much more practical brackets. These made installing it level super fiddly. The screw holes were much, much too large for the size of screws and the facing plates, to cover the screws just sit on top, loose; if you want it fixed in place you need to glue/ calk/silicone seal or devise some other way of fixing them in place.I would definitely NOT recommend this to anyone who is not a very confident DIYer any even then the port quality bracket make it too poor to recommend to anyone

This is a nice piece of wood but the supplied screws and plugs are too short to properly support it. I would suggest, if you buy it, get some longer plugs and screws. Overall, in my opinion, over-priced. About £25 would seem like a more reasonable price.

A certain amount of care was needed to make sure the two brackets were fitted centrally on the handrail, and this could have been made easier by having pre-drilled positions for the screws. Fixing the brackets to the wall was simple, and the result is excellent. I am using the handrail outdoors.

I was very disappointed with the quality of this handrail. From the marks along the curved edges of the rail I could see that it wasn't machine finished but was hand made - somewhere in China. That smoothness you'd expect just wasn't there. The support brackets seemed poor quality as were the supplied fixing screws which I didn't use and used my own. The caps fitted to the brackets to cover the wall fixing plate screws would not stay in place and were hanging loose so I had to use double sided tape to fix them in place. I would have returned it for a refund but I had needed it urgently for my wife, who had just injured her leg, to access the stairs. I had chosen this particular one because of its oval shape and because it was available with Prime next day delivery. I had thought that in future I might purchase more but I definitely won't now. I paid £69.99 and would have complained at half this price.
