I love my brand new stove top fryer. It takes care of the business for me when I'm in the middle of nowhere chasing after the big fish . When I catch the fish I have something to fry my fish in and truly takes care of the business all the way.

Smaller version of the one I've been looking for. for.
There is a review on stovetop deep fry pot by a Chef Christian on YouTube an this looks very close to what he used, though I believe his was a 7 quart. He recommended also getting a wire skimmer with a bamboo handle.
