the product looks great and was relatively easy to install
Overall, the product looks great and was relatively easy to install. A nice updated to a dated fireplace.Design and Quality:Nice clean finish. Magnetic doors for the inside screen doors and the outside glass doors. The description of "brushed nickel" and the image make it look like stainless steel / brushed nickel, but the accent stripes on the top and bottom are just a gray metallic paint. After installing, the outside doors were out of alignment so that they touched each other when closing, and the tops were not lined up. The directions mention some screws that allow for adjusting this. I had to play around with this a while because my unit did not have a lot of leeway for adjustment. There really was only one sweet spot where I could get the doors not to hit each other and have the doors line up almost perfect.Installation:Installation is pretty easy. There's a video out there that helps. One part of the instructions mentions measuring the height of the lintel bar to know which bracket assembly to use. I didn't really understand what I was supposed to compare the measurement to, so I just put it up against the opening and determined which bracket assembly made the most sense. Because my fireplace has a bunch of uneven stone, I wasn't able to install the bottom support brackets. The screws would just go into open space in a grout gap. Not a huge deal because the original was only installed using top brackets, and it seems stable enough to me. In addition, I probably need some extra insulation to fill in the gaps between stones.Amazon Warehouse:I saved about $50 going with the Amazon Warehouse Used Very Good option. It did come as described. The box probably was opened, but everything seemed as it was new except for a whiskey magazine and cigar magazine that the original buyer stuffed in the box for extra padding. That and a bit of smoker home smell (mostly from the box and magazines, the product itself should be fine since it's metal and glass)

Installed on a Wall Fireplace NO HEARTH
This unit is made to sit on a hearth or floor. Manufacturer was of no help on installation on a wall. I drilled Four 5/16" holes through the outer frame and mounted it into the brick with Tapcon Brand Concrete Screws (5/16"x 3") with flat washers. The holes I drilled go through an inner bracket they use with their brackets so the support is secure. Flat Black Paint helps to conceal the attaching screws. Looks GREAT. Other custom-made doors get expensive. With Patience and Careful Measuring, it can be done. Nice unit for the money. I had no issues with the door alignment. Comes very well packaged. Successful & satisfied. I recommend this unit as a good value.

Excellent !!
This is an excellent fireplace door. It's attractive, well built, and easy to install. I can't think of a negative concerning this product.01/12/2014 Addendum: I've been asked by several people now what size of these doors will fit their fireplace openings. My answer is; please check the manufacturers website for the actual dimensions then come back to Amazon to make the purchase. There are three sizes, and the dimensions listed here are not exactly the same as the manufacturers. Why? I have no idea, but I am not the person to contact in regards to whether, or not, which size will fit your fireplace. The reason I recommend that you make the purchase through Amazon is because if by chance that you do order the wrong size the return is easy, painless, and most importantly free of charge. UPS picks it up from your front door and returns it. You can't beat that.

Extremely Disappointed
After one fire the screen door is warped, the frame is out of square, and the glass doors will not shut correctly (the door magnets don't attract the metal door). The heat from the fire has tarnished the finish on the outside of the door and burnt the paint off the screen door. This filled my house full of smoke. I called customer service and they won't do anything without a part number or a serial number. I checked all the documents that came with the unit and nowhere is there a part number listed. There is a place on the paperwork that says "part number" but the area is blank. Of course, now I know why they don't bother putting the number on the paperwork. I don't recommend this product or this company.

Lintel bar too wide on my fireplace making installation very difficult
So my fireplace, built in ~1982 has a lintel bar about 7 inches wide, and none of the reviews that I saw mentioned a similar problem. The alternative work-around that they suggested did not work. Basically I drilled holes in the lintel bar and used the thread cutting screws they provided that stripped immediately. So I called the local fireplace store who came out for $120 (and I probably got off lucky) and he drilled a different hole in each clamp allowing the clamp and key bracket to now expand enough to fit, a solution that I didn't think of, and they should have mentioned that in the manual as an alternative. Anyway, there's a pdf file of the manual you can look at before purchase, page 5 explains the lintel issue. Still giving it 3 stars because it looks nice, and it sounds like my problem is rare since others haven't really mentioned this.
