Roaring Mad Riley: An Anger Management Story for Kids

Cute and Relatable Book
Lots of pros to this book. My 2.5 year old is struggling with tantrums and throwing things when upset so thought we'd give this book a try. She likes reading it - pics are very cute and words are understandable/relatable for young kids. There are good techniques they mention that we try with her. Can't say I've seen any major improvements yet but if nothing else, it gives me something to remind her of and potentially snap her out of the moment.

Good resource for toddler
This is a great book to read when frustrations are high from toddler and parent. I have read it a couple of times when things feel they are spiraling out of control. It helps bring the calm to the situation.

Wonderful book on anger
This is a wonderful book on anger. Toddlers have a hard time expressing their feelings. They also often get angry and they don’t know how to process this anger. This book explains at a level that little kids can understand the stages of anger. The sensations, the feelings, what to do. My son has asked to read it multiple times now.

A favorite book for our 4 year old
The graphics are great and the story is cute. I like all the extra tips for kids and parents that’s after the story too. He picks this out every night to read.

Good book
Good book but don’t go expecting miracles to happen. My 4 yo daughter gets angry a lot and I got this book hoping it’d help. I thought if she saw the things she does in this book it’d help her to deal with the emotions and understand it’s ok to have these feelings but instead she was in complete denial that she too gets mad like Riley. I will say, that after having the book for several months now, she does seem to recognize she feels mad like the book says and sometimes (not often enough) tries to use what’s mentioned to calm herself down

Relatable for a 4-year-old
My son's Preschool teacher suggested this book to me. She had read it to his class during a very high emotional week and it resonated with him. I immediately bought the book for our home library. We pull it out anytime he is struggling to manage his frustrating feeling.

Absolutely wonderful and useful!!!
The author did an amazing job of writing a very relatable incident of anger, what it is and a bunch of coping skills to address it!! As a CMHC I found this too super beneficial and can't wait to add to my toolbox

Good little book
Good little story about a dinosaur who has an angry time at nursery. Comes with some useful techniques and things to practise. We have been trying these with our 6year old and it’s been helping alongside his support at school.

Relatable Story
This is a good story with beautiful illustrations. I personally find the font of the text a little too tiny.So this may not be the best choice if you are purchasing it for younger readers.

3 1/2 yr old enjoys reading it
Our LO likes it. Listened for long enough to get the story and wants to read it over and over to point out the different types of dinosaurs. He was a bit confused that the teacher's name was Mr Rex, even though he was a triceratops :)
