During COVID we've been having small, socially distanced, outdoor gatherings around our fire pits. I make batches of chili or chowder and people can socialize, eat and keep warm- all outside. But I don't need my regular bowls going out there, being dropped or kicked and smashed in the darkness. I bought these because of their eco-friendliness. I hate using "disposable" things that cannot be recycled. Most disposable paper plates cannot because of the coating on them. Besides, most are very flimsy when you actually put hot, wet food in them, like chili or chowder. These bowls are great! The sides don't bend and spill from the contents inside. The heat doesn't weaken them. Highly recommend.

These bowls have made it easy for me to feed and clean up after my dogs without feeling bad about using disposable bowls. I typically use them in the morning when I'm in a rush to get ready for work. They're also great when traveling. I prepare and leave food (wet and dry) in the bowls and can leave them overnight in the fridge without worrying about leakage. However, if you leave liquids in them for a long period of time (a few hours) they will begin to tear (don't use as a water bowl). Otherwise, my experience with these bowls has been great!

I got these for camping. They were incredibly sturdy, held up very well. Large enough for a dinner size portion of soup/stew. No leaks, no need to double up!

These bowls are heavy and hold up well in the microwave. However, because they are not wax coated, things like butter and sauces tend to soak through. You need two bowls to contain the soak-through, which kind of negates them being environmentally friendly.

I no longer feel guilty using "paper" plates. These are eco-friendly, compostable. I have these in all sizes and shapes. If you care about the future of our planet, these are the plates to purchase.
