Continued Effectiveness Unlike Other PPIs I've Taken
I have tried just about every PPI (proton pump inhibitor) made (Prilosec, Prevacid, Nexium, Protonix) for a chronic acid reflux condition that I've had about twenty years now. Some worked for a period of time before losing their effectiveness. I started taking Zegerid daily about eight years ago, and this medication continues to work better for me than any other PPI I've tried. My understanding is that Zegerid is composed a slightly different formulation of omeprazole compared to that in Prilosec and sodium bicarbonate (baking soda). Now, sometimes I feel a bit full after taking a capsule, but a good belch takes care of that issue.In the past I always purchased Zegerid at Target, but even when I had a coupon to save several dollars the drug cost at Target was no cheaper than Amazon's. In fact, after I chose the subscription option so that I get a box automatically sent to me every month I'm actually paying a bit less with Amazon than I'd pay at Target even with a coupon. And it's damn convenient too!So, in short, I'm very happy with Zegerid as well as Amazon's price and subscription option and hope this PPI continues to work as effectively for me in the future as it has in the past.

Good Product at a Good Price . . . . But
Good acid control medicine, easy Amazon ordering, fast Amazon delivery. What's not to like? I'll tell you what - THE PACKAGING!This picture shows my latest order, which contained a total of 84 pills. I fit ALL 84 pills fit into ONE of the SIX pill bottles used for my order, and had room to spare. That's 6 bottles, 6 caps, 6 hard to open foil seals, 6 desiccant packs, 2 cardboard boxes, and 1 plastic overwrap, to deliver 84 pills that could have come in 1 small bottle. BTW - it's not just this brand. Pretty much every supplier that sells this type of acid control medicine in bottles does the same thing. Ridiculous packaging waste, and it's a pain to have to open all those containers. And don't even get me started on the other suppliers that sell the stuff in hard-to-open pill bubble packs that make you work for every pill you take!Rant over. Carry on.
