Discover Carp Fishing: A Total Guide to Carp Fishing

Could have done with more illustrations of tackle and rigs. The verbal descriptions are either hard to follow or incomprehensible and I am sure some are incomplete.

As a reader with a perspective from N.America, this book really gets you into the science and experience involved in such a seemingly esoteric sport but truly succeeds in delivering an accessible and informative approach to carping. The only thing I wish is that more diagrams of rigs and close-ups of the details of the rigs would be shown as descriptions are verbally given. Rob Hughes from the show On the Bank really accompanies this book well. Both of the writers seem like down-to-earth educators that make this sport less intimidating for guys like me across the pond!

This is a scholarly work, written by someone who takes his fishing for "trash" fish seriously. We can, and should, learn that carp can be a challenging and a desirable fish to catch. Crow's work details how the Europeans have made carp fishing a science and makes those of us who enjoy using canned corn and/or oatmeal laced with strawberry kool-aid feel somewhat ignorant.Unfortunately, much of the tackle, and indeed the bait mentioned by Crow will be either unavailable or prohibitively expensive to American angler. It is, nevertheless worth a read just to give us a glance at the world over the pond and to encourage us to catch a fish that is a real fighter that is overlooked over here.

Good book, covers tactics and techniques, however, it is written a good while ago which means it is full of equipment recommendations for things that are no longer available or in production.

Great read about carp but mainly based in Europe and has phrases and wording based on that country. However decent information.

Good book for beginners

This book was supposed to be new, and although it is obviously unread the condition of the book was anything but new. The pages were all faded, some pages had corners all crumpled and the whole thing looked like it had been stamped on. Luckily it wasn't purchased as a gift or you'd be getting it straight back. Not very impressed.

Begginners or anglers who want to understan that little bit more to get the catch of your dreams. Very informative and some very usefull tipes for a Carp angler.

I downloaded this book onto my Kindle and am very impressed with it. It has sound advice and information to help either the novice or experienced carper.
