Blower is back!
Works fine. I now have all speeds back for my fan! One of the easier things to replace under the hood on my 01 Ranger.

Just what I needed
I needed to go directly to Dorman to get the part number, then I found it quickly on Amazon. Initially I was going to get only the module but I extremely happy I got the wire harness as well. For anyone needing this module, be sure to get the harness as well, you'll be glad you did.

Perfect fit and functionality.
The A/C and heat in my 2001 Ford Ranger would only work on high. I did some googling around and all signs pointed to the blower motor resistor. This kit had everything I needed.I wasn't sure I would need the connector that came with the kit. Ideally, I would like to have just unplugged the old resistor and plugged the new one in. But over time it seems like the existing connector had gotten fused to the resistor and I was unable to remove it without breaking it.The new one comes with crimping connectors but I didn't have a good crimper so I just got out the soldering iron. I took a picture of the existing connection first so I would know what color wire went where, then cut the wires on the old connector and soldered the new one in and wrapped the connections in electrical tape.I can once again use all speeds of my fan from low to high. This was a good purchase.Hint: One of the online how-to's to replace this resistor said I would need to remove the windshield washer reservoir to get to the blower motor. I started to do that but realized on my Ranger that the reservoir was a solid molded piece with the radiator coolant reservoir. Rather than go down that road, I found I could squeeze my hand and a small socket wrench (with an extension) to remove and replace the resistor. It was a very tight squeeze and frustrating at times - there was very little room to twist the ratchet so it took quite a while to remove (and replace) the screws holding the resistor inside the motor housing.

Comes with what you need to complete the repair for cheap
I got this for my offroad beater 2000 explorer and it was a direct fit for the oem part. I wondered why it came with a new connector and pigtail wiring. I found out during removal that Ford uses a standard "inside the cabin" connector that has non-weatherproofed exposed terminals on the wire side of the connector for a connector that a Ford engineer decided to put in the engine compartment side of the hvac housing. The connector and resistor were fused together with rust. Great job, Ford. . . So the connector pigtail came in handy. Thanks, Dorman. The only bad thing I can say about this product is that it came with butt connectors that have the kind of shrink tube around them that don't completely seal. NEVER USE BUTT CONNECTORS FOR A WIRING REPAIR ON A WEATHER EXPOSED CIRCUIT ! ! ! I installed mine with quality shrink tube over proper wire to wire solders so the wiring connections for the 5 wire resistor connector would last as long as a proper electrical repair should. Might not matter seeing as the Dorman part uses the same connector style as Ford and the resistor will probably fail from corrosion before my electrical work will. Anyway, five stars considering the price and the fact that you get everything you need to get the job done despite my personal distaste for using butt connectors for weather-exposed wiring.

Good quality
This one came with the connection plug, the one from Autozone doesn't. So far so good. Works on my 2007 Ford Ranger xl 4.0L

Good quality
Good quality replacement product. It's good that it comes as a kit with the new plug too. Most all the time you will have to replace the plug with this plug.Just what you would expect dorman, good quality copy of the original

The harness is definitely needed
The original harness rotted out internally, luckily I ordered this kit. And soldered and shrink wrapped the wires together. The crimps they offer not the greatest.

Good price, works like a charm
Good price, works like a charm. Blower resistor was impossible to remove from old socket due to corrosion. Make sure you get this kit since most likely you'll need to replace the socket as well. Also put some dielectric grease on the new contact to prevent future corrosion.

Good value
Like with most Doorman products well made. Installed easy and definitely needed the harness
