The pieces are too large. If smaller it would be easier to measure out smaller portions. It’s hard to chop them up because they are dehydrated. Pricey for product.

We used it as-is for the first batch, but ended up pouring out the beverage because the star anise was soooooo overpowering. I removed all of the star anise pods for the 2nd batch and it was tolerable, but it felt wasteful.

The spices were whole. It was great if you made a huge batch. Impossible to make smaller batches because you can't get a small even portion of the spices.

I ordered this to use to make the house smell like Christmas but it didn't really put out much fragrance. Didn't use to drink so can't rate it on that.

There's a lot of anise in this mix. Otherwise smells and tastes nice, but I don't reach for it because of the anise imbalance.

I realized this is twice as expensive as other mulling spice blends. Huge pieces and chunks are difficult to measure, and it leaves me wondering if it weren't meant for potpourri initially. You can't really use smaller amounts, due to size of material.
