Excellent source of authentic Vietnamese cuisine. I have tried several dishes and all were top quality restaurant dishes. Easy to follow and well organize. It’s now my go to for when I’m craving some Asian food. A must have for your collection.

The book is well laid out and in particular contains recipes that are actually very doable, substantial (ie not overly fancy or full of just veg - some Vietnamese dishes leave you feeling still hungry afterwards!) and tasty as opposed to books that cater for more fanciful writeups. I made 3 main courses in a week and enjoyed them plus 2 essential sauces. Many recipes can be made without too many special ingredients, just quality fish sauce, soy sauces available from a good supermarket etc. I like the range and breakdown (main courses, starters, sauces) but the desert section is weak. The write up has a fair bit of the author's past family life in several places (interesting but I would have preferred more recipes too); it could be better laid out and editing overall can be improved alittle. The print is matt and not glossy. Overall a practical and useful book I will refer often. Good gift also.

I’ve just received the book, so haven’t had time to make any of the recipes yet, but Thuy Diem Pham’s recipes look delicious, and very varied. With a heartwarming introduction to Thuy Diem Pham and her life, and stunning photography, this book is also lovely to read. Cảm ơn!
