Excellent. Buy this belt. Lots of info in this review.
Ok, so this belt is great. Buy it. Here’s why:It’s about an 8oz leather. I can’t be sure if it’s cow leather. Looks and feels more like bison, but it is well made, with fasteners and edge sewing the other reviews said they had “creases” from shipping, and this is simply not the case. At least with mine, it had a couple spots that were a little over-bent, but nothing a little light working can’t solve. -see picture. The belt buckle is made of pewter and antimony. I’m a bladesmith, and I work with metal. Others say the buckle felt flimsy and cheap, and I completely disagree. If your standard, over devorated kilt buckle. It’s heavy, and substantial. And, ugly, but it does the trick. Since I cast my own buckles out of bronze, I made one for this belt. The buckle in the picture is the bronze buckle I made, NOT the one that comes with the belt. You’ll have to pay 125-150 for a hand-cast buckle out of bronze.Fit - I wear a size 44 kilt, and the LARGE (36 to 45) size maxes out at size 45. The large belt fits me perfectly at the maximum adjustment. So the sizes are accurate to the WAIST FIT.BOTTOM LINE- You get a well-made, thick leather belt and an ok pewter buckle. For $23, the value is outstanding. The belt alone is absolutely worth the price, as custom belts also range from $100 to $150. I’m Very happy with this purchase, and you will be as well.

For Rowdy Roddy Piper cosplays
I used this with a kilt to dress up ad Rowdy Roddy Piper. It almost matches up with the belt in his photos.

Excellent Belt and Buckle!
I purchased this purely for the buckle as I had a belt, but the first buckle I ordered ended up being too small for a kilt belt. I never expected the belt to actually fit, but it did, with room to spate! I am no small dude so I really didn't expect this, but I am super impressed. Highly recommended.

Good enough for the purpose
Not very high quality leather, but not very expensive, either. Fair value for the money. Very prompt delivery.

belt better than expected. some ordering tips.
Right proper belt for it's price range. Better quality than expected.Easily adjustable over wide range of inches down from maximum listed size so, if in question, order up a size because it is not up size adjustable over an inch or so. Measure at the widest part of abdomen where top of kilt sits above naval, not widest part of hip bones, if for kilt use.Buckle as in photo has plain, polished rectangular area in center for any engraving or monogram one would wish. Belt is actual leather and sturdy but, may possibly laminated leather yet, has stitching along top and bottom edges along its length so it will probably last if not abused for any off purpose use. I do not yet know if new leather dye bleeds color if wet so, test an area with cotton swab before wearing with an expensive or light colored kilt if one is to participate in Highland games or wear on rainy day at all.

It's okay... Not happy, but not unhappy.
I was not entirely happy with this belt, but then, I am not unhappy with it either. I was expecting a higher quality belt from the reviews I read about it, before I purchased it. The sizing is a bit off too, just saying. I ordered a LARGE, having a 36W. The belt is about 4 inches too big, so I suggest ordering a size smaller than what you need. It does have room to adjust it, which I did. It will be okay, however, I feel like the belt is doubled in two to make it the right size, and I am just not happy with that. Wonder what is going to happen when I try to thread it through the belt loops on my kilt? Will it be too thick? . It is fine for the time being I guess, but I will definitely be looking for a better belt as soon as I can. (This is why I hate shopping for clothes on line. Just can't take the place of seeing, and trying things on, in real time!!). The belt is okay...just saying, I wouldn't have bought it if I had seen it in a store.

Simple and elegant, a great buy!
I needed a more formal kilt belt in my collection, and although there are more expensive ones available, I chose to go with this one before I laid out a ton of $ for one of the more expensive ones, and I am glad that I did! This has proven to be a great purchase which I wear almost every time I wear a kilt, which is quite often. It is simple to use, easy to adjust for different kilts, holds all of my dirks and looks way more expensive than it was. With the exception of the most formal occasions, and my utility kilts, this is about the only kilt belt that I wear. Great buy!

Deeply creased leather band
The belt looks and feels very sturdy. The buckle looks a little cheap, but that's to be expected considering the price point of this belt. The thing that's frustrating is that this belt is folded very tight for shipping; causing several (in my case, 5) very deep creases. It took me almost two hours to work the creases out, I had to heat treat it with a iron, rub it with coconut oil, and then clamp it down with some pieces of wood. After three hours, the creases were mostly gone, but still visible. If you are not prepared to treat the belt to get rid of the wrinkles, you may want to look elsewhere for your belt. Of course, all of this could have been prevented by rolling the belt rather than folding it, but that would take up more space I guess. Be prepared to get your hands dirty to make this belt usable.

like me, you're on a limited budget and/or only ...
If, like me, you're on a limited budget and/or only wear your Kilt on the odd occasion, then this belt is perfectly adequate for the job. The Medium size was just right for me with a 34 inch waist, and there was plenty of scope for adjustment. I am now looking for a good excuse to "dress up", rather than waiting for Burns Night next year :-)So far I have bought this belt, my Kilt, Kilt Pin, Socks and Flashes all from Tartanista. And when I can afford to buy the Jacket and Waistcoat, I'll be putting my business their way again.Cheers Tartanista !!

Good solid belt!
This is a good product for the price. The leather seems solid and the buckle is of fairly high quality. The Velcro works well to adjust the length of the belt. The one thing that would be worth noting is that it has a strong odour and would be worth airing the belt before you wear it. I haven't had the opportunity to wear the belt for any great length of time, but first impressions are good.

Not bad for price
Bought as part of outfit and done the job however one of the two rivets at one end of belt was missing and being new leather was stiff , I would have returned for a replacement but didn't notice until too late my fault for not checking earlier however as seen by photo did the job on the night
