It works on a littmann classic iii

This replacement piece is actually a two piece diaphram that consist of the diaphragm and outer ring. I discovered this as they diaphragm and ring separated while trying to get it on the stethoscope. I then attempted to follow the instructions, as I interpreted them by placing the diaphragm on the scope and then attempting to apply the ring. This did not work! I then studied the picture instructions more and step one shows assembling the diaphragm and ring together. Next, you apply to the scope starting at one point working it around the head of the scope till it's in place. This was not easy!!. I struggled (admitted shamefully)..... I had to use my nail to peel the ring edge back (on the top side) a little to get it to bite on the head of the scope until it was on there enough to work it on. Be careful to not apply any pressure to the diaphragm as it will bend or crack and you'll be in the same predicament you were in before ordering it. The ear pieces are what they are and simple to install. Good Iuck! I should have made a video......

This 40022 parts kit also fits the "SELECT" model. It was a lower priced stethoscope in its day and I had difficulty determining which of these parts kits would fit. This is the one. I used a little lubricant around the edge and it slipped on nicely. Without the lubricant I might have damaged the diaphram getting it on. Be careful. Hope this is helpful to you.

Ive had my littman stethoscope for 15 years. Prior to this past couple years I'd replaced the diaphragm cover ONCE. About 18 mos ago I had to replace it again with this $20 part. Ridiculous price. The previous small rubber ring has been replaced with hard plastic. Very difficult to attach to the bell. It very quickly broke again. I've just replaced it again. Very difficult to attach and still hard plastic, no rubber. I bought a case to keep the stethoscope in hoping for better protection. At $20 a pop I can't keep replacing this part because of a cheap redesign. We'll see if this helps. Littman needs to go back to the rubber ring!

This picture shows a round Diaphragm and I received an Oval one! Seller wouldn't let me return it for a round one. Needless to say, no one else in the I.C.U. could use it either. Very Disappointed that the seller wouldn't let me return this for a round Diaphragm!

I was nervous to order this when I lost my original diaphragm but I’m very glad that I went with this set. The diaphragm and ear pieces fit exactly like the original and they went on easily! I’ll be sure to save this specific item for the future when I lose my diaphragm again.

After "only" 15 years, the rubber ring on my wife's Master Classic II scope had cracked (they just don't make things like they used to haha) and wouldn't hold the diaphragm in place. The ear pieces had also seen better days, so this kit seemed like an inexpensive way to bring it back up to snuff, and it did so very well.Some reviewers have said that installing the diaphragm was a bit difficult, and I agree that the picture instructions could be a bit more detailed, but I had no problem. The kit came with the ring already attached to the diaphragm, so all I did was place it on the bell, press down in one place on the edge, then work it around with my thumbs in small increments. Had it in place in less than 30 seconds.The ear pieces took a bit of oomph to press on, but that also took only a few seconds, and they are nice and tight, with no chance of falling off. The end result is the wife reports that the scope works like new and she is very happy about that. And happy wife = happy life :) I highly recommend this kit.

Perfect for Littmann Master Classic II stethoscope. Perhaps a bit unfair of me to deduct a star for including earpieces which I did not need but had to purchase because this is the only way to buy a diaphragm for this scope, but I dislike waste. Brought my stethoscope back to life.

As far as possible, we checked to ensure that this was the correct kit for my wife's Littmann stethoscope. It looks identical, but...(1) Membrane infinitely flimsier than the old one - it was impossible to fit without deforming it.(2) The rubber O-ring did not flex sufficiently to fit on the metal base, and then to accommodate the membrane.(3) The original ear-buds were fitted with plastic/nylon screw-fit pieces, so as to fit snugly onto the metal arms - these were just soft rubber, which 'sort of' moulded onto the thread, but do not feel at all secure.All in all, the value of this kit could be a maximum of £5 - very poor quality, and a real step down from the old bits and pieces. Poor show!

Does what it says on the tin. Easy to replace. No idea how the original one fell off, but this one hasn’t fallen off yet. Work for the ambulance service so my stephoscopes get some abuse, maybe that’s why?Given 4 stars instead of 5 as feel it’s a bit overpriced. Although I managed to get this for £13.99, they usually cost more. Bit frustrating you can’t buy the spares individually, I have no need for the ear pieces, I have at least 6 sets of spares now.

I needed this for a Classic II stethoscope whose diaphragm retaining clip had broken. Apart from needing a couple of goes to get the new clip and diaphragm correctly aligned, this was a very good investment. The stethoscope is now back to full function. Hopefully the new parts will last as long as the originals, which lasted over 10 years of daily use.
