One of the features of quill mops is their versatility. A good quill brush has a fine tip and full belly, so you're able to get a wide variety of strokes with the same brush. The strokes should range from relatively thin lines to nice, even washes. While this brush is thirsty and can hold a lot of pigment, the one thing that the brush I received really lacked was a point. The tip was quite rounded, with almost no discernible tip present at all. For broad strokes and washes, it could definitely deliver. But, without a decent tip, I could not get the fine lines I expected from a quill mop of this size. As much as I wanted to love this brush, I just couldn't, as it didn't meet my needs for versatility. If you want a brush that acts as a mop to deliver nice washes, this one is great. If you want the versatility of a quill that allows thin lines to broad strokes in the same brush, this one falls flat.

I do watercoloring.... I've only used the brush like 2 times about 30 min each session. I have to say its a little hard to get used to. It is my first mop brush and it seems that it is better to use this brush for larger paintings. I usually work small. I thought since it is a pointy round brush I would be able to control it and have thin lines, I am not expecting super thin, but considering how thin the round tip is, I thought I would have better results. I will continue to play around with it. It might be just getting used to it.So far its been good to cover a lot of the space with water and backgrounds.

If you are looking for a brush that works a lot like a natural bristle brush at a much lower cost, this is the brush for you. It keeps a nice point, doesn't spring back, and can be shaped into a flat end to use on windows, trees etc. This is small but I don't work big anymore so it's just right for me.

Really nice brush but larger than expected. I usually dont do large paintings but this brush is still useful sometimes.
