Cheng Concrete Acrylic Slurry for Concrete - Stone Color, 750 Grams

I'm not sure what my problem was, but I had a really hard time using this stuff. It never seemed to firm up all the way, even after mixing it as dry as I possibly could (after mixing it a bit wetter the first time) and leaving it overnight and covered (i.e. I followed the included directions EXACTLY). It also shrinks up quite a bit. The shrinkage is no big deal, as the instructions clearly state that this may happen, and that you should plan for it. However, I'm just not sure why the stuff didn't firm up better. Now that it's under the countertop sealer, it seems fine, but I never could get the countertop completely flat, as the 800 grit diamond pad ate down into the slurry, causing indentations in the countertop.If anyone who reads this can help me identify what I might have done wrong here, I would really appreciate it! I'm planning on doing a much larger kitchen project next summer, and working out this kink ahead of time would really help.

I've made a couple concrete countertops now and I've used this a couple times. Its advertised as "non-shrink" but it definitely does shrink some. Make sure you buy an extra box or 2 so you can do 2 rounds of slurry coats. If you plan for just 1 coat you will be disappointed when it shrinks a little and you have to come back for round 2.

Workable as advertised but priced too high. $25-28 for small 1.6lb bag is unreasonable. Cheng would get a lot more business from me if their prices were more reasonable.
