Great product, great price!
Our puppy has destroyed both his and our other dog's plastic bowls by chewing the sides and tops - they were both looking sad and abused. I spent a lot of time reviewing the different dog bowls out there trying to find the perfect bowl that would be durable and keep it's new look. Loki likes to chew on things (meaning it had to be metal or ceramic) and he tends to slide bowls around on the floor (meaning it had to be non-slip). What I found is that the ceramic bowls don't generally come with non-slip bottoms, which pretty much ruled them out since I didn't want to buy a mat large enough to hold two dog food bowls and a water dish. I liked the stainless steel colored bowls that were supposed to be non-slip as well as no-tip, but reviews of these types of bowls consistently said that dogs were pulling off the rubber ring on the bottoms and either chewing them up or eating them. Since Loki tends to eat any and everything he can (I don't know how we've be lucky enough to avoid surgery to remove foreign objects from his stomach so far), that ruled them all out. When looking at these bowls, I was concerned that the bottom non-slip rubber didn't look very substantial. But, because these were such a good price, I decided to give them a shot and ordered two, one for each dog. I've been using them now for a few weeks, and I have to say I am pleasantly surprised and tickled with these bowls. First, the non-slip bottoms work very well - neither dog has any movement from the bowls at all when they are eating - and they tend to push food to the front of the bowls and push the sides to get it, so they have been testing it's effectiveness very well. Second, they are a medium-weight stainless steel (which I think is perfect) and clean up easily and well. I rinse them after each meal and they look good as new and are ready for the next feeding. For the price, these bowls just can't be beat. I have no doubt that they would cost 3-4 times as much at the local pet store. I'd give them more than five stars if I could - I just love these bowls and expect to get many years of use out of them!

This particular item works for a Chihuahua not a German Shepard Dog.
Not the correct size! Does NOT hold 2 cups of dried food! Only works best for my GSD’s diminutive friend which is a 9 pound Chihuahua. Was adding an additional bowl for the larger dog? This bowl would be a short lived toy for the 41 Kg dog! So I will keep this bowl for future travel purposes for the more tiny buddy who weighs a mere 4 Kg. This bowl suits him far better. Lesson learned watch the sizes!

Great, simple, functional design and well made
Initial review - I purchased two of the 2 cup and one 8 cup bowl for a 65 pound dog and a cat. I really like the fact that they stack and don't hold water when washed upside down in the dishwasher. They stack very compactly, are fairly lightweight and the rubber bottom, covering almost the entire surface is well adhered and designed. While these bowls may not be ideal for everyone, they are much better than several other plastic/plastic and rubber versions that we previously used. That said, our pets are medium-energy eaters: the dog eats fast but not is not rambunctious! The capacity appears to be very close to the stated size, when measured with water to the very brim. For example, the 2 cup dish works well for the cat kibble and the dog's 2x/day kibble (but many would use a larger size for that). There were zero quality defects in the bowls I received and I plan to order more of them. The metal is clearly stainless (and there is no requirement to mark metal as such! I'm an engineer who knows this sort of thing professionally.)The label on the small bowls was easily removed with a very careful, slow pull, whereas the label on the 8 cup bowl left a tape spot that came up quickly after a little rubbing with 409 cleaner on a paper towel---a better/easier to remove label for both would be preferred. We use the 8 cup bowl for the dog's water, many would use a larger bowl but she's not a heavy drinker and we like to keep her water fresh and filtered---it is the right size for us.It is true that they are not a particularly heavy gage (thickness) of stainless steel and that they may dent or deform over time. However, they are light and inexpensive and absolutely sufficient for my use---I don't need a heavy bowl!Because the thin rubber bottom may trap water when stacked, this is probably not the right bowl if you need to stack bowls for substantial periods of time before they have completely dried out.

Sturdy, well made.
This bowl is a good size and seems to be made well. My only complaint is why do these manufacturers use stickers with glue that won't remove easily and makes me have to soak it for hours and scrape and still never get it all off or use chemicals inside where my dogs food or water will be. I wish they would use their brains and at least put them on the bottom if they are too cheap to buy quality stickers.

Perfect outside bowl for my dog
This is an excellent bowl that has been very durable. I would have to guess that Bergan has improved their quality over time, as some of the bad reviews appear to be a few years old. It is not too thin at all, but feels very solid. And I'm not sure about a complaint that it "seems" like it's not 2/4/8 cups. It's a measured volume container, like a measuring cup! If you feed your dog 2 cups at a time, you should maybe get the 4 cup one so you don't have to fill it to the brim! I use this every day and leave it outside all day for my dog. It has held up wonderfully and not a spot of rust. Also, the main picture does not show it, but the bottom has a nice thick, textured rubber pad and that's one of the best parts. Doesn't slide all around my concrete porch and get scratched up. I will agree that the sticker was on the inside, and ridiculously hard to get off neatly, even with goo-gone! Otherwise, the bowl is perfect and I will order more.

Half the size they are listed as.
It's a decent quality bowl, but the listing said it's a 4 cup bowl, but it barely holds 2 and it's filled to the brim (I have 2 husky shepherds, two rottie labs and one black and tan coon hound catahoula mix).... If I use these bowls I have to feed them in two helpings in order to give them enough. The one on the left is an actual 4cup bowl, the one in the right is a little tiny cat bowl. The one is the middle is decent quality but ridiculous lol

Nice bowls, but small
The description says the bowls can hold 2 cups of dry food, but the bowls are small and 2 cups of dry food would overflow/stick out of the bowl. The bowls can actually only hold about 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 cups of liquid. The non-skid rubber on the bottom of the bowls are also fairly weak and still causes the bowls to slide. The bowls are pretty sturdy and seem easy to clean, but I returned them because they were too small and didn't provide the non-skid bottom I was looking for.

Item is certainly not the one in the pictures
The images on this product are not of the actual product. It is smaller for one but more importantly, the images show an entire rubber bottom. I've purchased that type in the past from retail stores and they work well. This has 3 small rubber strips that feel as if they will peel with just a few uses. This level of bait and switch should be against Amazon policy.

Great size for a tiny terror
I was looking for a new food bowl for a new puppy I was getting, because I couldn't bare reusing my deceased dog's bowl. I found this and was pleasantly surprised at how small and perfect it would be for my tiny puppy. It does its job at providing a vessel for my dog's food to sit in. It's easy to clean and the rubber feet on the bottom insures it does not slide around while my dog is eating. If I had more tiny terrors running around, I would buy more.

Make great water bowls for cats
I purchased three of these bowls and I use them to hold water for my cats. The bowls are large enough and heavy enough filled with water that my adult cat and two kittens have yet to dump any of their water bowls. The stainless steel bowls are easily cleaned. I simply fill a clean bowl and swop out for a bowl that needs filling. In this way all three bowls get cleaned regularly. There are three rubber pads attached to the bottom of the bowls to keep the bowls from sliding. I have had no issues cleaning around these pads with soap and water. Again, these pads are on the bottom so the water does not come in contact with anything except stainless steel.I also have a 70 lb. dog. These bowls are far too small to serve as a water bowl for a dog this size. I would be constantly filling it. The bowls might work for very small dogs but I personally would look for something larger.I am happy with this purchase.
