Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu - The Complete Series [Blu-ray]

Different FMP
First off this is not like the FMP season 1. This is a comedy with the same characters, but it has no story, no fighting, and no real point. It’s a comedy, but if you know that going in and you are ok with that you will probably like it. To compare, if you have seen Barakamon and Handa kun, it’s similar. Also for Assassins Creed fans it’s like playing Black Flag after the Ezio trilogy, both are good but Black Flag does not feel like an “Assassins Creed” game. This anime is not bad but it’s not as good as the first season but it’s also not even the same type of anime. I’m not a huge comedy fan so I didn’t love it but I loved Kaname so much I decided to watch it anyway. They exaggerate her anger a lot in this one, but her anger is typically justified, but you also get to see some legitimate open affection from her toward Sousuke. Most animes shy away from letting the hot headed girl openly show her feelings, but Kaname does and I like that about her character. She also is really a sweet and kind girl. She is blunt and will say “mean” things that are usually not done seriously or maliciously, but when things get serious and she sees someone is hurting she is there for them. Sousuke seems resistant to accept his feelings but he also will conservatively make it clear he likes her too. I really feel like Sousuke is afraid to believe that she likes him and is scared to have feelings cloud his judgement... in addition to his inability to pick up on social cues. But their relationship while not ordinary is actually very believable. Tessa is pretty cute too. There is some pretty strong “bleeped out” language but it’s obvious what is being “said”, there is also some nudity with sensitive parts barely covered by scenery. Ultimately, if you liked the characters of FMP and are interested in comedy then this will be one you would probably enjoy, but if you are wanting to continue the story and see more action and mecha then skip it cause you won’t miss anything important to the story.

FUMOFFU! YOU HAVE TO WATCH THIS.
This is easily a classic these days. If you haven't watched this, you are SERIOUSLY missing out. You HAVE to watch this, trust me. Best part, this is very stand alone. You don't really need to watch the actual Full Metal Panic franchise to love and get this show. When I first watched this back in the day, I had never watched Full Metal Panic. I started off with this and I laughed my butt off. It's very charming and really really fun. I didn't know any of the characters but I learned of them through this series and grew to love them all. This was actually my entry point and what got me to try watching Full Metal Panic (which unlike Fumoffu is very plot heavy and while there are light hearted moments there's a lot of serious things happening. The actual Full Metal Panic franchise is amazing story wise).

Its a comedy which I like.
I prefer funnier animes that have serious story lines too. Or just straight comedies. Not so much into dead serious animes(or drama shows in general) so therefore I loved this. Its my favorite of the FMP franchise. But I have particular tastes.I wish the main series was a bit more like this. Anytime the main series starts showing Mechs it gets boring in my opinion. The main series should have been just Sousuke protecting Kaname while dealing with high school life, but it tries to be too much of a war anime for me sometimes. Though its also good.Wish this was as long as the first season which is 24 or so episodes, this is just 12, or 13. Cant remember at the moment.

A little taste of days gone bye~bye...
And it wasn't but less then Seven years ago! But what a change eh? This was when tv shows where still shown in 4:3 instead of the now 6:19 format.. or so. I'm not quite sure about the wider formats' dimensions at the moment._Anyways, the series was funny then as it is funny today. Special mention goes to the Rugby manning up episode! Still gives me a chuckle every time I pop in the disc. Kyoto Animation where still bouncing back and forth btw genres and unfortunately climaxing with '~the Second Raid' to never to this day again return back to the crazy Awesome of cool action. (sob)_The series is a great pick, but I sadly must write that if you've already bought the show on DVD.. the purchase of this is questionable. Sure, you get a sharper image. The audio is no different and that's it~ The supplements are NIL and ZIP with the generic OP / ED without text and a promo for other junk from Funi~_Buy it if you're a FMP fan like I (who has bought all 3 on Blu~)and take comfort that if you already have the DVD, you'll not be missing much here. I Do write that if you really want to see FMP at its clearest. BUY '~The Second Raid' on BLU-RAY! The supplements are Awesome and the format was made in the former to boot!_I do so miss ADV with their Otaku love of Anime._They will be missed

This show was the reason my son started collecting Anime.
Although I am starting this review, my son will finish it.What are the good points about this anime -- it makes fun of the entire Full others. Too bad there are not too many others quite like it. So far we have seen gigantic robots that lost their story plot rather quickly or something so full of nudity or barely clothed girls that it made it difficult at best to watch. NOT THIS SET THOUGH.The main characters are ridiculus in a scary movie type of way. Just think of an ex-military guy going to high school without any idea about girls, fun, or anything else us normal people take for granted. In one episode the ex-military guy has rigged explosives to lockers because he knew someone had gotten inside it. Later he discovers that it was just a girl who wrote him a love letter and dropped it off in the vents of his locker. Now if you can handle this type of humor than you will definitely like this show. I have never seen the original Full Metal Panic, but plan on purchasing it after seeing this show. Even if Full Metal Panic winds up being more dramatic than this set, I think it will be still be worth watching, because so far this has been the best anime I have seen.

Nothing serious here, it's all for fun
I had seen the first two seasons of FMP and knew that this had nothing to do with the storyline. Random converstion with a coworker and Fumoffu came up. So here we are...Personally, I think it was worth the investment. I enjoyed it. Lots of laughs. If I was to describe it, I'd say it focuses on the main characters day to day as high school students without the main plot. There's some silliness in there, but some really entertaining stuff as well.Gotta say though, in todays climate, there's some content there that could potentially offend. All depends on how you choose to approach it I guess.

Bueno y barato
Muy buena serie, todo en 2 discos (DVD y Bluray), a un muy buen precio, pero eso si, una advertencia, solo trae subtitulos en ingles

A great comedy anime
A great comedy anime. It doesn't follow the plot of the rest of the series and can be watched as a stand alone. The anime classics edition is of good build quality with a reversible jacket.
