Toxic smell from tape :(
Not a huge fan of writing reviews, but we felt compelled to make customers aware of the toxic smell coming from this tape. Running a warehouse, we use a boat load of tape each day. We've gone through 3m scotch, duck, exheed, sparco for our daily packing needs and decided to try double bond. Price was decent, adhesiveness was on par. However, after 5 minutes of sealing boxes, my workers started complaining of the smell. I thought to myself, tape is tape is tape. Why are these guys complaining? I spent 5 minutes in the warehouse with my team using this tape and almost fainted. Halfway through the first roll, we had to open up our warehouse roll up doors (for air circulation) and started looking for my face mask. Not only did the smell resonate on us, but throughout the warehouse. Suffice to say, this tape did not smell good. My head still feels woozy and stomach aches from inhaling the smell. Can't imagine how healthy it is for our body to smell it day in and day out. Like I said, bang for the buck = low $. Sticky = does the job. Health hazard= stay away.

Good tape, good value
Firstly: the people whining about the smell are funny. One "top reviewer" even gave it ONE Star simply bc of it. This is the strongest packing/shipping tape with the most aggressive adhesive I've ever used. Glue has an odor. It's not that's bad, and if you aren't sticking your nose on it and huffing it you won't even notice. Smh.On to the review. I'm comparing this to my favorite tape ever, the Scotch brand heavy duty shipping tape. It's every bit as strong and does the job every bit as well only slightly better due to the much more powerful adhesive. This superior adhesive is not altogether a better thing, though. The tape doesn't leave the dispenser nearly as smooth, it's grabby and a little jerky. So it's noisy, you have less control, and fatigue could be an issue if you're packing boxes all day. It's also fair to wonder does it even have to be this powerful; the Scotch isn't as tacky but has never let me (or my customers receiving their products from me) down. It also isn't *quite* as "crystal clear" as the 3M/Scotch product but it's certainly not cloudy, and covering postage labels is not an issue. The 3M product is still my favorite, the undisputed King of HD shipping tape... 3M dominates at most everything they set out to do and this is no exception. This stuff beats it pretty handily in the price dept, almost half the price. I'm giving it 4 stars and would recommend. The missing star is due to the funky, non smooth delivery of tape / dispenser. My fave, the 3M is also a 4 star product but it loses a star but that's for being cost prohibitive. As stated I have no problem recommending this tape but I'm going to continue my search for a 3M replacement that comes closer to replicating its performance for less dough. If you're buying this stuff in bulk it means you're using it frequently, and packaging boxes for your customers should be an unconscious process - this tape doesn't quite accomplish that, though it does do its job.

One Star
Triggered asthma attack! This is the most toxic smell ever. I started to put tape on a box and suddently couldn't breath. It required two nebulizer treatment to semi-recover. I beleive this is a dangerous toxic product

NOT FOR THE LATEX SENSITIVE
WARNING: TRIGGERS LATEX ALLERGYThe catch to this: that stinky odor everyone else is complaining about? Yeah, it makes my throat burn and sinuses close up. I have a latex allergy, and I'm convinced this contains some natural rubber product that is triggering it.It's good tape: strong, thick, sticks well. I won't return it since I'm packing for a move, but I do have to call my wife over every time I need to close a box up. Oh, well. I just wanted to warn other latex sensitive individuals away from this product.

This tape works great on my tape gun
I am an E-Bay seller so I use taping a lot, I have used the name brands a lot and this tape sticks (cool pun lol) right up with the name brands but at a lesser cost since I am retired I am always looking to save a buck. It may not be as thick as some name brands but just as strong. As far as any odor there is no odor in this tape it is not going stick up your room or car, I think the person who commented on an odor has a really sensitive sense of smell. This tape works great on my tape gun, tears easy by hand or if you use your teeth. Great for taping over my shipping labels.I know I will buy again !!!

Perfect for light weight boxes
It is not as good as my ol' 3M but it suffices for all the simple projects! If you don't have a box with a lot of heavy items, this is plenty of tape to use. But when you are dealing with a lot of heavy items or shipping a box, you either need to use a little extra or use a different kind. These rolls fit my name brand taping gun just fine. I am moving for a week, for renovations to our flats and am using it on all the boxes so far.

Rest assured that this tape will do what it is supposed to do.
I do a lot of shipping and am always looking for good packing tape. Most times the tape that I come across is thin, breaks easy, and does not stick very well to the packages that I send out. This brand of tape, on the other hand, is really really good. All of the qualities I expect in a packaging tape are met with this product. Rest assured that this tape will do what it is supposed to do.

It's ok but prob wouldn't buy again for my needs
Thickness is great. It's very clear. 2 issues. It doesn't want to stick to cardboard. I own a small business and go through a lot of tape each month. I make and sell wood signs which I pack flat and need the tape to seal around the edges of the cardboard. My packages are like large cardboard sleeves and it keeps coming loose. 2...oh my the smell is pretty loud but I could deal with it if it would stick better for me.
