We need more of this.
Dr Kohilathas has taken it upon himself to come of with a much more effective way to run the healthcare system. This book was very informative and his knowledge and understanding of the system is extensive. I can only hope one day this is considered and implemented to help us.

Some good ideas, but would be improved by considering other universal healthcare systems
The author clearly has a lot of experience of working in A&E, and has some good suggestions for how to make improvements to aspects of the system. However, the book doesn't look at how other universal healthcare systems function and are funded, specifically their A&E services, which I think is a really important part of the conversation about reforming British healthcare.

I hope MPs are reading this
Even to a non medic such as myself, its clear that the NHS faces an urgent need for an overhaul of its BAU. Copious amounts of bureaucracy, out dated systems, short staffing and under funding are not synonymous with 21st century working environments, so why should medical and health care workers allow this to continue? Saving A&E The Toyota Way not only highlights the issues but illustrates how leveraging private businesses and their production methods can be used as an overlay and realistic template to save the NHS from being privatised itself. This is a short, digestible, concise and practical read, and hopefully acts as a catalyst for change.

Simply awesome!
Great book! Extraordinary narrative & Dr K absolutely nails the problems in Healthcare and more importantly provides solutions. NHS no doubt is creaking & bursting at its seams and meaningful change is long awaited. Implementing changes along the principles set in 'Toyota way' will definitely improve things but the path to get there is not an easy one! Needs concerted effort by like minded people, effective clinical leadership and less bureaucracy! People like Dr K need get on to leadership positions in NHS so that transformation happens ASAP.
