Berklee Press Publications Jazz Standards for Solo Piano

Well, I acknowledge that this book is from an academic institution, but jazz is meant to be a living, breathing thing. These arrangements are ok to get hints about typical voicings and the arrangements are competent, but there is little feel, sparkle or even swing in the way they are arranged or played on the accompanying audio (downloadable with a code). I concede that these standards are presented in a way to let you inject your own variations and that's fair enough, but the presentation is rather dry.

A little disappointing as only a few of the pieces are well known to me

Sehr gutes Klavierbuch. Die Hörbeispiele sind hilfreich. Ist einer meiner Lieblingsbücher.
