Works great for getting my knives shaving sharp
Works great for getting my knives shaving sharp. I use the 2000 grit side most, since I never let my knives get very dull. The only thing I would have them change is to not print their logo on it. It took quite a while for it to finally wear off and leave the surface smooth and flat there.Edit: About six months after I bought this stone, the seller sent me a new one out of the blue. When I asked about it they said that they had noticed my prior review and had changed the logo to the side and wanted to send me a new one free of charge. That is great customer service. I sharpened a knife with the new stone and it worked just a great as the old one. The 2000 grit really gives a smooth sharp edge without giving a mirror polish that looks silly on pocket knives. Between this one stone and a leather strop with chromium oxide, you should have everything you need to get super sharp edges and maintain your knives as long as they don't have any major nicks in the blade.

Amazing! I also appreciated the manual/pdf that came with ...
I bought two of these stones with varying degrees of grain, and combined they make one hell of a sharp knife!I had two knives that I considered "impossible to sharpen"... I used two other stones on them for about 30 minutes each, and they just WOULD NOT sharpen. I sharpened that same knife on these stones and they are now razor sharp! Amazing!I also appreciated the manual/pdf that came with the purchase. It wasn't SUPER detailed, but it gave some good suggestions and guidance. I would have liked the manual to be delivered to me sooner than it was, though. (It came a couple days after I received the stones in the mail). The only real complaint I have is that you have to be SUPER careful with the stones. On my FIRST use, I soaked them in my sink and dinged the corner of the stone on the side of the sink, and it chipped off. That was sad for me. It still works, but I have to be careful when I sharpen close to that chipped corner.

Quite Satisfied
Was looking for a stone and chose this one because it was the only 2000 grit at such a low price and had a reputable looking seller. On my crappy old Wolfgang Puck santoku's, it gets about the same results as one of those cheap plastic handheld sharpeners you would buy at your local big-box general merchandise retailer for $5 to $10.But on my Calphalon with supposed "German Steel" it really makes a big difference. Cuts through sinewy beef and fat-laden chicken with silky smoothness and ease.Came packed wrapped in bubble wrap, then inside a stiff cardboard box. One of the corners had a small chip, and I didn't find the chip inside the bubble wrap. So I'm going to blame the manufacturing and not the shipping on this one.Would recommend.

Awesome inexpensive Sharpening Stone got the cuts to prove it.
Great inexpensive sharpening Stone. Sharpened my chisel razor sharp. Before I even finished with my black Xtra fine Arkansas Stone. I've got the cuts to prove it. LOL. The only thing I didn't like is how dirt the surface of the stone looks after sharpening both sides turned this rust color. Even though I kept it wet the entire time. You could clearly see the metal wash away with the water. Maybe they should sell with a trying Stone or something to clean the stone after use. Also I never received the ebook. I couldn't find anyway to contact them. All and all it's a really good cost effective sharpening Stone. Maybe I'll try the high grits to see how well they do. They also shipped really fast. I ordered Friday late I mean late and it was on my front porch before I even got back from my trip on Sunday.

Great for fixing small chips and sharpening your everyday kitchen knives
I ordered this whetstone to smooth out the rough spots on a few kitchen knives and for touch ups to keep my favorite knives in tip top shape. The stone works great, much better than I expected. I've been using one of those hand held sharpener for honing the blades and it worked okay. But this stone really allowed me to correct the edges of blades that were slightly chipped. And my kitchen knives have never been sharper! I'm really happy with this purchase. The rubber holder definitely makes it easy to use and keeps the stone in place. I also didn't have any problems with the logo being printed on the stone surface, it was printed on the edge where it doesn't affect sharpening in any way.

Very well Made Wet stone.
I purchased 3 of these wet stones all with different grits in order to sharpen my kitchen knives. received them within a few days and I do have to say that the Quality of the stones were impressive, I was a little unsure about the rubber mount that they came in thinking that once water got underneath that it would slide, it didn't move at all. Like all sharpening of knives you need to start at the lower number grit and work your way up. I started with the 600 grit the moved to 800 then 1000 then up to 3000 and finally used the 8000 grit, it placed a very nice sharp even edge on all my knives, After using the strop for the final touches my kitchen knives were sharper then when I bought them. Use care when Sharpening any with an edge and never test the edge with your fingers, I did that and didn't touch it hard at all and my thumb paid the price. Now on to other parts of the Stone. Once I was finished I leveled and planned the stone surface. It was very easy to do and did not take long at all for this procedure. It was a very good investment and the Wet Stones were very well made. A great buy for anyone that sharpens their knives at home.

Useful combination of grits in a very good quality stone at an excellent price
Not much to add to the title. An ideal combination of grits to take a kitchen knife from dull to good sharpness would probably require three or four different grits, but I was looking for a single stone with a grit in the 500 range for initial work and something 2000 or above to give a decent polish. The 600 isn't coarse enough for a badly dulled and misshapen blade, and 2000 isn't fine enough for a high polish, but this combination is the best compromise I've seen for my typical kitchen knife work. It allows me to take a single stone when I travel so that I can fix knives at places where we stay (friends, relatives, occasional rentals, etc.). Definitely worth the price.

Ideal grits for axe sharpening, and all-round use
I thought I'd write a quick review to help people out when considering which grit whetstone to buy. I spend quite a while researching - I wanted to sharpen a new axe (axes are sold blunt) and wanted a stone for other uses too, like kitchen knives. I thought I'd need a higher (finer) grit to do the final sharpening (honing) but that was definitely not the case - this 600/2000 stone is perfect for pretty much all blade sharpening needs. So, for axes, you would need to start with a file (a b*stard or possibly a second cut file - ideally a double sided one with both coarsenesses). Next step you can move on to the 600 grit whetstone. Takes quite a long time to shape and sharpen the blade, but worth the effort. Finally you can use the 2000 grit side to polish and hone the blade. I managed to slice tomatoes easily with the axe after sharpening like this. The stone is excellent, it comes with a rubber base to hold it stable if you are sharpening with the stone stationary. You can also hold the stone and sharpen a blade held in place - best to use gloves if you do it this way.In my opinion, you do not need to go higher than a 2000 grit stone (the higher the number, the finer the grit) for knife sharpening unless you have specialist needs, like Japanese sushi knives.

Doesn't really do what it is meant to do
I received my order a week ago and I have used the stones 8 or so times since then. I couldn't really recommend this product to anyone. After a single use, the 2 sides of the stone came apart (can see hardly any glue was used) so I mixed up some aridite and actually stuck them together properly. Then there is using the stones, I am no expert but the 600 side (Blue) actually doesn't remove ANY material apart from a 1/4 cm sized strip on either side of the stone, I used a nagura stone to try and clean up the centre of the stone, incase it was just metal particles clogging up the surface, but that didn't work. The 1200 grit white side actually removes far more material than the 600 grit blue side, which is obviously wrong, so for the money I paid I got a single 1200 grit stone, not a dual grit stone, all this means is that I need to spend far more time sharpening my blades.Buy this product if you want to take a chance, but I would recommend not wasting money and instead spending a bit more money and getting a more reputable stone.

Nice seller and good quality, but need more patience for large Asian's style knife
First of all, I would like to recommend this seller, he/she is very kind and nice. After I placed the order, I received an email from this seller ask me whether I am satisfy with the product and also attached a very detail instruction for using the sharpener stone. At the time I could not give review as I bought this for my parents and I have to get the real feedback from them for me to write a review. No doubt about the quality of this sharpen store, but need more patience to get perfect edge. It works well for knifes of smaller size. If you have large Asian style knife. I would love to suggest you buying one with lower grit. Please click helpful if you found my review give you a sort of idea. Thanks.

Excellent product!!!
Excellent product!!! My secateurs now have an edge on them that is as good as when they were new and the edge stays keen all week! I'm a professional gardener and it is so important to keep edged tools sharp. Very impressed!**Update**Product still good, but read on.....I purchased this item over a year ago and wrote my original review then. Today - 26/10/2019, I received an email, allegedly from the single mother who runs this family business with her two little children, thanking me for the 5 stars, and asking me to write a review of the product. I thought this seems a bit odd, even though though the email address it came from was amazon.co etc!SO BEWARE OF POTENTIAL SCAMS IF YOU BUY ANYTHING FROM AMAZON!

Brilliant
The first time I used this I tried it on an old knife as I didn’t want to risk spoiling my decent knives. It didn’t seem to be sharpening it and I thought I’d wasted my money but I persevered and then realised it was taking so long because my knife was so blunt. Now all my knives are dangerously sharp and will slice through a squashy tomato no problem. I would suggest watching a YouTube clip on using a whetstone to get the technique right though.
