Carpentry & Joinery Illustrated
I was looking for constructional details of doors and windows for restoration of a listed building of about 1870. Although this book is a reprint of a slightly later publication (1907)it is probably close enough and provides the level of construction detail that I require. There seem to be few sources of really detailed constructional information, and this is as good as I have found but it still misses out some necessary techniques such as the joints where glazing bars cross. The book contains comprehensive coverage of many aspects of construction, but surprisingly nothing on stairs, so I presume this was a completely separate trade. As many of my windows have arched tops I found this book, read in conjunction with Circular Work in Carpentry and Joinery, provided most of the information I need.If you are looking to reproduce constructional joinery of the early part of the 20th century this is the book.

Joiners opinion
As a joiner myself .This book is great, the detail is outstanding , the printing could have been clearer however as some of the detail is lost on the more complex drawings. In all glad i bought it ..
