It’s a decent piece of gear.
Slightly smaller than I expected but it can handle day-to-day city loads fine. The glove loops attached to EVERY zipper is a little over the top IMO. They can make it rather confusing if you are in a hurry to get to items inside b/c they are so large and all identical. The semi-rigid top pocket is handy and protects items inside from knocks and bumps fairly well. The straps are thoughtfully designed and padded ok. I think this pack will last a while in my world. It’s good looking, well built and black like the man I want to be.

Great Pack from SOG. Love that Eva Shell on Top!
This pack replaced a Maxpedition Sitka I had. I wanted a pack that had a compartment for my sunglasses believe it or not. I had storage for almost everything except that. On a whim, I googled for backpacks with some kind of compartment for them and here I run into SOG. I am not sure how I missed them doing packs since they started selling them months ago, but I was excited to see one of my favorite knife companies trying something new. This is the 20 liter pack, and it is made of 500D nylon, which is thinner and lighter than 1000D which while very tough, is hard. This is a nice compromise. The pack stands out looking very modern and “high tech”, with the laser cut Hypalon MOLLE and the hard shell top. It makes it look a little less tactical and doesn’t scream, “Yes I am LE or MIlitary, and this is my bag”. The MOLLE slits give the bag a unique look compared to molle straps. They do hold up, as I attached a Tactical Tailor Enhanced Admin pouch to mine to test. It’s been a couple weeks of use, and I even tried to just get them to rip apart. Not going to happen. The evo hardshell is great, and has velcro colure inside so you can place sunglasses, a camera, anything tyou dont want to get banged up and didn’t put in a cse to protect. Very convenient feature in the bag and it is what first drew me to it. Lots of slots and pockets for pens etc too. The main compartment is nice, though the opening itself could be a little wider, which the 24 liter size does since that one zips all the way doown the sides. YKK zippers with large pullstrings look nice and are sturdy. There is a hydration pocket with support for the tube to go down the carrying straps. I have not tested this since I don’t use hydration bladders even when hiking. I like bottles lol. The pack also has a large laptop or concealed carry area in the back. There is velcro inside to attach a one sided holster for access and there are zips on both sides to get that access as well.I don’t care for the price points. I think the packs while fantastic, are a bit on the high side. The only other issue I have is that the black pack picks up lint like crazy, much more than any other black colored pack I have. I might try another in grey as the lint problem wouldn’t be an issue. Sog make great knives and tools and these packs seem to follow along.

Great bag for daily use and travel
Not the cheapest bag in the size bracket but after using it for 6 months I cannot find a bag I like more than it. Holds my laptop, 2nd screen, cables, and other gear great. It looks good enough for the office, fits under the seat on flights, and keeps everything secure. I wish I had more internal storage but I use some smaller hard cases for that.

Great pack but has some downfalls
I take epilepsy medication that always needs to be with me so I have this pack with me at all times. In the 1+ year I have owned it, it has been great though it does have some downfalls in my opinion.Pros: good amount of storage and pockets, carries my handgun well, zippers nice and is very well made. I know this pack will last a long time.Cons/Improvements: The bottom of the pack is very slippery so you cannot stand it up and have it lean against anything when you are trying to go through it. I fixed this by painting flexseal on to the bottom. The bottom is nice and grippy now as well as waterproof. The zipper tabs are nice and easy to grab but I have found the design of them tends to catch things so opening or closing can be a little difficult at times. The upper front (hard) pocket is great but flops over when fully unzipped. I with they had made the flex point stiffer so it doesnt just flow over when unzipped. I have spilled everything out of this pocket a few times but accidentally unzipping it too much. Same design goes to the upper pocket. When I have stuff in the hard pocket and open the main zipper, the whole top just flops down.Just my .02 after having used this pack everyday for over a year.
