How this coffee maker went from a 1 star to a 5 star.
At first I didn't like it but now I do because it has a kcup capability, that's works well, it can make more than one cup and the carafe keeps it warm. Clean up is easy and doesn't take up a lot of room.I usually keep the reservoir tank empty. I don't rely on the machines measurement system, you'll have to figure it out yourself. I'd say that's the only con.At first I gave this coffee maker a 1 Star, I even planned on returning it but after using it for a while, I had to rewrite my comment because this machine deserves a 5 star rating. Mr. Coffee has two really good coffee machines. The older model with the carafe, I used for 6 years, it was flawless. I was going to buy the same one but I gave this one a try and it seems like a lighter version of the old one.

Didn't Last A Month
First, the good.1. It's easy to program.2. I love the carafe.3. It saves space and looks nice on my counter top. Now, the bad.1. The coffee tastes bad compared to my old Keurig, but I learned to live with it by adding more coffee.2. The K-cup part is a big pain to use. If you CAN get it to work properly, the coffee/tea/hot chocolate/whatever tastes watered down and has no flavor.3. Yesterday - the day before I submitted a return/refund request for the coffee maker - it stopped brewing after only about 2 cups. I cleaned it, ran clear water and vinegar through it, but it still took 3 tries (and a lot of wasted coffee) for me to get a full, 10-cup pot of coffee. Even then, it was super weak.4. Today - the day I submitted the return/refund request - it started pouring water all over the place during the brewing process. This wasn't a simple leak. It POURED all over my counter top and would've ended up all over my floor had I not been standing there watching it. By the time I got it cleaned up, there was nothing in the carafe but lukewarm brown water. I won't even call it weak coffee because it was simply what I stated - lukewarm brown water.5. If the manufacturer has to add instructions on what to do with regard to certain situations (re: water leaking and/or ‘add water’ notifications when it has water, I think? I didn’t get any instructions), there’s probably a defect. I’m basing this last one on reviews I’ve read today. The only good thing about all this is that if it was going to screw up, it happened before the return window disappeared, but barely. Had I waited even 24 hours I would've been stuck with a useless coffee maker I spent $100-plus on.So, now I'm stuck waiting on UPS to pick it up, then I'll be waiting for the refund from Amazon before I can purchase a new one - NOT like this one. I'm a big coffee drinker so it looks like I'll be digging out my old stovetop percolator until this is straightened out and I can (most likely) just go ahead and buy another Keurig Duo.I don't recommend this to anybody. There are too many reviews mentioning how it leaks - reviews I wish I would have paid more attention to before ordering it. Don't waste your money. Seriously. When I buy something, I expect it to last longer than 3 to 4 weeks.

It's a bit of a learning curve - but once you have it? Great coffee maker!UPDATE!!!!!
I waited to give my review because I really wanted to know I had used it fully and could answer honestly. It's a smaller footprint than my old Hamilton Beach Flex Brew and makes better coffee. TIP: If you like your coffee even stronger than the strong brew button makes? Use a Columbian blend or dark roast blend. Fill the grounds basket for a 10 cup pot but fill reservoir to only make 8 cups/strong. That will give you that stout cup of Joe. I love the steel carafe that keeps it drinkably warm without getting that burnt stale taste from sitting on burner plate all morning. TIP: To make your carafe keep warmer do as you do with all thermos/ carafes - the night before? Or a couple of hours before? Fill with your hottest tap water and close. It will - the thermal and your coffee will stay hot all day! Empty it out just before you make your coffee. If you are using the single k-cup style? Use the strong setting or the coffee will be weak. These are all the pros. The only con is the water filter in the reservoir... most of us already have water filters (either on our cold water from our refrigerators or from our taps) However..twice filtered water is not really that. bad now is it? All in all ? I LOVE this coffee maker and feel it makes great coffee and offers flexibility and is therefore a great buy.Had to come here and update my review - here I am a more 7 months from purchase and the coffee maker leaks water all over the counter and the carafe leaks and does not keep coffee warm. VERY DISAPPOINTING.CAN NO LONGER RECOMMEND.UPDATE: Contacted Mr.Coffee ..corresponded with a very nice and concerned customer service rep named Rhegie , who listened to my grievances and made it right. So A + Customer service and I really loved this coffee brew system when it worked right have me changing my review back to 5 star.
