DK Eyewitness Travel Turkey

I was lucky to be gifted my first copy of DK Eyewitness Travel Guide for Sri Lanka by my coworkers who knew I was going away, and my experience with that meant I had to get this for my trip to Istanbul. While I previously thought I'd prefer the Lonely Planet series, I compared the DK version to Lonely Planet's in store prior to ordering it on Amazon and have to say that the DK version is incredibly detailed with lots of pictures so that you know what to expect and what to look out for. There is plenty of useful information packaged into separate chapters by region as well as details on opening times, whether tickets need to be purchased, and key things to not miss. Most of all, the book is a good size and not too heavy, and can easily fit into a small handbag so that you can keep it on hand at all times. It also has two foldable flaps either side of the book so you can store your page/progress. I particularly love how at the back there is tonnes of useful information about the transport, phrases, currency, as well as other basics to another country that normally you'd only know about through word of mouth or travel blogs. This book was a great help for my trip to Istanbul and I look forward to using the other sections for future travel to Turkey as it is such a reliable travel guide.

We loved reading this before going to Turkey. Great information and photos. As a family we all enjoyed going through it from 2 - 50years old. These guides are always thought through xx

I only buy eyewitness books, easy to read and understand, picture make everything understandable

I was in doubt in buying this or the competition brands.I'm very happy i bought this one because it's very complete.For me i need more than the essential and touristy... This has fantastic images, drawings and architectural detailed axonometrics with sections of the main historic buildings.It touches with detailed without being a spoiler.It's very recommended!

Another in this excellent Travel series published by DK. I enjoyed it so much that I also purchased the companion volume on " Istanbul". Without exception, these DK travel guides are a pleasure to read, highly informative, helpful and beautifully illustrated.
