PENNINGTON SEED 100522285 Bermuda Mulch, 8.3 lb, Package may vary

My review addresses other negative reviews and my own previous ignorance. Being from New England and living in Central Texas I spread this heat loving seed in the winter. None of it geminated. When we had irrigation put in the owner of the company let me know that Bermuda grass needs a minimum temperature of 85 to germinate. I recently spread it in area that needed patching, when heat indexes are in the low 100s. It's spouting quickly and thickly.

It works very well on spring time, but, not so much during summer

I laid this bag of dead down on top of my dying winter rye. I thought that would give it a good top mix to deal with.Bottom line, we watered it every day, it good good mixed sun and shade, and nothing happened. Waste of money and time.

I've reached that stage in life that I love to take pride in my lawns appearance. This product is not exactly the greatest it does grow with proper watering. I recommend shaking the bag vigorously to mix the seed and pellets thoroughly before attempting to spread, or virtually all of the seed is at the bottom of the bag it patched the spot I was trying to fix in my luscious Bermuda grass carpeted lawn but I read many reviews before purchasing. I would've bought it at my local hardware store cheaper, but have an odd work schedule and having it shipped was more convenient. Shake bag very heavily before applying, cover bare spot and water 3 times a day until grass reaches approximately 3 inches in height. Then water less to sustain a lush green lawn. I heavily water two times a day twice a week. And fertilize every 6 months and dethach and over seed once a year and have the greenest lawn ive seen in my entire city. Don't forget to weed and feed in the spring about a month before fertilizer is applied to have a dandelion free lawn. Good luck and happy landscaping.

Nothing happened. I wasted soil, water, and time. It didn't work.

I followed the directions exactly and had PERFECT growing weather, and I DID NOT GET A SINGLE BLADE OF GRASS. NOT ONE! A complete and total waste of money. I wish I could get my money back but you can't return something that has been used up and is worthless. DO NOT BUY THIS! IT IS CRAP!

It is about 4 weeks and the Pennington has barely germinated, and I used 3 bags. In fact I had to overseed with a competitor seed which is beginning to germinate. I found the Pennington seed, even though the bag said 8+ pounds, it was primarily mulch. Sorry, but never again. A costly misstep.

Didn’t work at all. Waste of money. I don’t know what warmth has to do with grass seed or thickness for that matter. I wasn’t growing a coat.
