Very well chosen collection of beautiful and thought provoking writing from a wide range of cultures and eras. There are familiar poets and some that are new to me. A book I keep by the bed and dip into often. Full of gems. Essential for any poetry collection.

The collection reflects the care by which each verse was chosen, and some are remarkable for their wisdom and insight. It can be read front-to-back or by individual choice and one never tires of the subject -- the approach or its interpretation in the hands of Rumi, Dickinson, Whitman Rumi and much more. Bly has put together a touching collection of soul inspiring poems. This book is the first spiritual book I ever read and got me to read another one until now I'm a little hooked.I cry at some of these selections and never stop learning from them.If you don't like self help or spirituality this book is still perfect as it's poets and touches the emotions more than a simple guide ever could.

This is a great selection of poetry. The comments from Blake are very illuminating. Love it.
