Grandma's Best Recipes

I already have this book but it is locked up in my work place at the moment as I am a cook in a nursery and use a lot of the cake recipes for the children's snack time. It is like a Bible to me and the gingerbread recipe is exceptional!

I had been looking for a good easy to follow cookery book for some time that would just have good basic recipes. I had a look at all the celebrity cookbooks but they invariably have a lot of fancy recipes that I would never get round to doing, mainly because the ingredients were unobtainable or too expensive.This book is fab for showing you how to do good old fashioned puds, soups and things like roast dinners and macaroni cheese, lemon meringue pie and steamed puds, chocolate mousse and flapjacks, all the stuff that our mums and grannies made and we maybe need reminding of.Easy enough for my daughter to follow so she can learn basic , good nutritious receipes.A winner, this is replacing my old Delia book which is threadbare - it s all you need, buy it.

This is the best cookbook i have Ever bought! Honestly, it's perfect for all occasions, from simple quick bakes to well thoguht out meals to preparations for special celebrations! I went to pick some fresh blackberries and decided to try out the apple and blackberry crumble recipe.. it was gorgeous! And the steps were so easy to follow, with no confusion i think it's brilliant!I found myself looking through it the other day planning which recipes i could try out for the family at Christmas! It's my new favourite cookbook and has pride of place on the shelf!

some lovely, but simple recipes. i bought one, and this was the second for my son who has just gone to university. He loves it...has made the flapjacks and the shortbread, not a bad start for someone who barely knew what the oven was for!

I was bought this as a gift. I loved the quality and content so much I decided to purchase another one for a friend who had also just become a "grandma". The variety of recipes and the hints and tips are wonderful. Well recommended.

I had first seen this book in a local big box store and fell in love with it but it was more then i wanted to pay for it. I found it on Amazon at a much reduced price and sent for it. I received it quickly. I have been reading it off and on and it is a delight. The pictures are colorful and beautiful and the receipes clear and easy. It reminds me of my youth and watching my Grandmother cook many of the same items. I would highly recommend this book for all lovers of cooking food if you cook or just enjoy food.

Wonderful cookbook with recipes for so many of the standard "comfort" foods, and some nice "company coming for dinner" recipes. Nice pictures of the finished dish, and easy to follow instructions.

Just like the title!
