500 lb. Capacity Hitch Mount Aluminum Mobility Wheelchair & Scooter Carrier Ramp

People should know this dosent work as is for a 6 wheel mobile chair. Slats are far apart . Causing smaller front wheels to get stuck. Its costing us more to have it redone to work for us!!!

Lots of little aluminum chards when you open and move the pieces around. Lots more than this one photo shows. Even after shaking, can hear more pieces shaking inside the frame. Lots of very small screw/nuts and the instructions are weak. Once I got it together, pretty happy with the results but I’m using it more as a cargo carrier than scooter carrier so I’m okay with the lighter aluminum rather than a heavier capacity.

smaller wheel scooters will, get stuck between slats, ramp incline to much for some scooters,

This is a well made and functional carrier. Mostly made of aluminium, but the critical load bearing components are made of steel, otherwise the 500 pound load capacity would probably only be 200 pounds. The plastic corners minimize the occasional knee bangs, etc. Good reflectors, enhance night time visibility.This item is also available at Harbor Freight. I actually purchased mine at an estate sale. The previous owner had used his carrier to transport his mobility scooter behind his pickup truck. I am going to make an interchangeable smaller gate to convert the carrier into an extra cargo carrying transport. I could us it with the ramp, but it interferes with my tailgate.

Easy to load & unload my scooter, takes up less space than my trailer, very strong & will not rust. I mount this on the hitch of my Town Car.

I purchased this thinking that it was constructed solely of aluminum because I wanted to store it outdoors. It is NOT all aluminum. The undercarriage support system is painted steel and the hardware is just plated (I replaced the plated hardware with stainless steel hardware).Likes: Fairly well constructed, light weight for it's size.Dislikes: Not all aluminum as the description implies, cheap plated hardware, rung spacing on the unit (especially the ramp) might not be close enough to easily roll a portable generator or snowblower or to drive a scooter into position. I added sheet aluminum on the ramp and deck to overcome this problem. Cheap plastic corners which don't seem like they will last.
