Part fit like a glove
The trunk on my 2016 Hyundai Elantra stopped closing. I found a YouTube video that showed me how to make the repair and linked this product on his video. The new latch was easy to install and works really well. The trunk now closes and I can open it using the latch on the floor of the driver's side or the fob on my keychain. It is identical to the old part.

Works perfectly!!
Dealer told me I needed a bcm replacement - but I questioned why other components under the bcm still worked normally - don’t be fooled!! I decided to try this product because it was the only thing not working on my 20 escape - and sure enough, perfect fit, been working flawlessly since!! I was expecting a recall for the liftgate not unlocking anymore because come on now, if one gets trapped there’s no way out, there is no safety release!! Get this part and fix your car and don’t let the dealer fool you!! Thank you!!

Perfect for my car and now my trunk latches correctly!
I've been having issues with my trunk for a few months, but it just recently stopped closing. I had to tie it down for a day or two until the part came in and installed it myself. I'm not sure how expensive it is to get it replaced at a dealership, but I knew that for $20 and learning how to install it from a YouTube video, it would be much cheaper! I was so excited to have the latch fixed after months of it acting up and not working correctly. Super easy to install and it was the exact piece for my 2016 Hyundai Elantra.

Quick and simple to install. A lot of clips to remove, probably be a good idea to get a clip removal tool. You are going to need it as you own a KIA. Certified piece of junk.

First Generation Sequoia rear latch
This non-OEM works perfectly as replacement door latch. The only difficulty installing was attaching the new cable to the (upper) handle which was very tight pushing onto the fork. Watch a You-tube video on how to replace the unit. Seems to be very well built for the money.

Good at first and then not
After purchasing an automatic latch for the rear hatch of my Ford Edge on Amazon, my initial impressions of its quality quickly faded due to a critical malfunction that developed shortly after installation. Initially, the latch functioned almost flawlessly, securing the liftgate as designed. However, it soon began to exhibit a concerning issue where, after closing, the liftgate would appear to secure itself only to unexpectedly release without fully opening, leaving it in a partially secured state. Fast shipping. Fit like a dream and worked immediately without fuss.
The old actuator had a worn plastic locking pin that sometimes unlocked and at most other times did not. It required removing trim and interior panels before cutting into the plastic cover to manually raise the locking pin so bolts were accessible for removal/replacement. I cannot speak to durability as it is a new installation. But it looks at least as sturdy as the original part from 20 years ago.
