ABC Animals!: A Scanimation Picture Book

We have the waddle book and this book as well. The kids love the scanimations. When we bought this book we were hoping for more text and some of the fun that the waddle book has. This is simply a letter book though with no real text. The left pages have the letters in large print (4 letters per page) and the right page has the scanimations with an animal name underneath (1 for each letter, 4 per page).Pros:1. Scanimations! The kids love them2. Sturdy! Although not quite a board book this book as well as the waddle book (which we've had for over a year) hold up well. Sometimes we find special books (flip books and others) tear easily. We haven't had any issues with these.3. Educational! Who doesn't love a letter book.Cons:1. Was hoping for more than just a picture with a word.

I absolutely love having books for my grandsons that have motion and NO electronics! I wouldn't have believed they could be so real if I hadn't seen it. From 2 to 6 years old, my grandsons are fascinated. For the really little ones, they should be supervised, though. The pages can be torn from their moorings, and I can't figure out a way to fix it. The rest of the book works fine, but that page doesn't. (And Gramma can fix most anything!) Well worth the money!

Just pulled this book and "Waddle!: A Scanimation picture book" out of the packing box. I was so excited about these books I wanted to check them out before wrapping them for Christmas. The "Waddle!..." book is gorgeous so I was expecting the same quality with the "ABC ANIMALS!..." book. I'm quite disappointed with this book, I have to say! The pictures are not clear at all! So I played around with it and noticed the cardboard pages that hold the pictures in are not snug together creating a "bubble" in the films. These are for a two yr old and I can see this book will be tossed to the corner right away. I think this is just a fluke flaw seeing as I read so many great reviews on these books!

The book is really cool to look at the pictures in movement but when you turn the pages or move the book around you can feel the binding is not well constructed . My grandsons turned the pages and the came out of the book on the second turn of the page . They were sitting in my lap and were not being rough with the book . Very disappointed !

My granddaughters l o v e this book. They leave this out for their nightly reads. I saw it in a museum but since I didn’t want to carry it home, I ordered it and had it sent my granddaughters.It’s a fun book. Even I enjoy reading it.

I have purchased several of these scanimation picture books for my grandchildren to enjoy, and found that I enjoy reading them also. They are the first books they go to when they come to my house. They love the movement of the animals. My only wish is that this one was in color, like some of the other ones I have purchased, and that the pictures were larger.

I love this book because of the moving objects when the child turns the pages. I bought this for my two year old Great Grandson for Christmas. He loves books and I know he will love this one! Can't wait to give it to him.

A new book from Rufus Butler Seder is always a treat! I bought this book and a few other Scanimation books for my two year old grandson for Christmas. He loves books and seemed excited about them!

Having read the reviews for these books I thought it would be a lovely gift for my granddaughter to keep at my house with her 'grandma toys'. It arrived packed only in a jiffy bag with no other protection. As a result there are several dents around the edges and the corner is damaged. On opening the book the spine is ripped - this is the part that makes the animals move so it is completely useless. Also very let down with the actual illustrations. I don't really know what I was expecting but they are black and grey lines with the animal in black so very hard to see and can't imagine a hard to see picture will keep a child entertained for long.

Bought book as "used" , when it arrived several of the pages were badly damaged, which was disappointing and not as described. I contacted the seller to advise them of the situation, they replied very quickly and immediately refunded the cost.The moving pictures are a great idea however some of the animals used to demonstrate the individual alphabet letter are a bit obscure.

My daughter loves this book, but for some reason they have put indents along the pages which end up causing it to tear away from the cover which means the motion won't work.

My son absolutely loves this little book, it’s bright and easy to hold. Each animal moves differently and adults will enjoy looking at it just as much as the children!It’s fab!

Amazing book. Nothing like this is available in any book shop that I looked in.Fabulous gift. Well worth the money
